Basically it is a sponge that is covered by Diamonds in the crafting table and then if u place it in an ocean it creates a permanent big air bubble unless if you break the sponge. The sponge can be moved by pistons and the bubble will move with it Also, the sponge never turns into Wet Sponge because it is SUPER SPONGE
this would be useful as i use normal sponges and water just keeps refilling where water used to be and it gets kinda annoying to remove water but this would solve this problem as it would keep removing the water i can just put a lot of the super sponges to remove all of the water this should be a thing in minecraft already water is kinda hard to remove at the moment
Basically it is a sponge that is covered by gold bars in the crafting table and then if u place it in an ocean it creates a permanent big air bubble unless if you break the sponge. Also, the sponge never turns into Wet Sponge
Is the created air bubble actually permanent [literal sense] or only persistant until the generating block is moved/broken?
As a derivative, assuming the generating block can be moved by pistons, would the bubble move with it? [Visions of a flying machine transiting the abyssal deep danced in their heads…]
How big is big? [Numbers, please.]
Why is "the sponge never turns into Wet Sponge" important?
I think a more plausible crafting recipe would be nine sponge in a crafting table.
Given the potential power of the item (depending on what is meant by 'big'), some increase in the crafting cost seems called for…
Depending on the item specifics, a beacon surrounded by eight sponges might be justified....

WARNING: I have an extemely "grindy" playstyle; YMMV — if this doesn't seem fun to you, mine what you can from it & bin the rest.
The air bubble is persistent until the block is broken/moved
Also by big a radius of 5 blocks
If it will turn back into wet sponge, then what is the point of the super sponge? It has to make a permanent water bubble.
also i edited the post and the crafting
i think you should do gold blocks diamonds are really hard to find and more gold crafting recipes would be good i see why you did diamond a blue sponge would be cool but maybe the sponge can be shiny and even more yellow then the normal sponges i mean the sponges would only have one use i don't think stuff like diamonds should be used gold blocks may seem super expensive but you can make gold farms you cant farm diamonds because nothing drops it drowneds and zombie pigmen both drop gold.

a beacon crafted by eight sponges is way to much money sponges are hard to find by themselves but fighting a wither also a lot of people will not end up with this sponge because there is a lot of people who don't fight the enderdragon or wither because they are powerful and hard to fight if you don't fight them correctly the sponge should be crafted with gold blocks like the how the god apple used to be crafted expect instead of a apple its a sponge
I don't know how I feel about the recipe (diamonds don't feel natural) but a permanent bubble sponge would be great. Perhaps replace diamonds with Nautical Shells (or whatever they're called)?

If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.

A towel is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker could have.
