Well these are my suggestions regarding the new update
1. Guard villager
Iron golems somehow wonders around mostly and the mob only attacks when hostile mobs go near him, guard villagers would atleast have different characteristics than the iron golem where it stroll around the village and if raid or hostile mobs entered the village then villager guard would go to there location.
2. Effects
It would be so awesome if villager guards will follow you anywhere it may follow you if you have an effect lets name it as the leadership effect, where villager guards will help you fight other mobs and will follow you like a dog.
And an effect where if you kill a lot of villagers villager guard will classify you as an enemy to the village therefor attacking you and will be kicked out of the village.
3. Pillager camps or village
It would be fun if pillager has its own village where if you have the leadership effect that i mentioned above you can also raid pillagers village therefor 2 healthbars will appear above 1 for the no. Of pillagers in their camp and 1 for your troops or villager guard that follows you.
4. Pillager boss or king
This is somehow the main target of the pillager camp. If you kill their boss then pillagers will stop from spawning therefor immobalizing the whole pillager village but if you dont then pillagers will continueosly spawn im there village and will continue to raid villages.
Well this is just my suggestion but as i have said i really love minecraft..
...you haven't actually been paying attention to 1.14 at all, have you?
1)villagers that engage in combat is on Mojang's dead ideas list. If it's a villager and it attacks things (or just turtles up as an epic defender, they haven't been as clear about a Gandalfian type of villager simply holding the hordes at bay indefinitely..."YOU SHALL NOT HRM!"), it's simply never going to happen. Sure, Mojang may one day decide to change their mind on this but so far they have given zero indication that they will do so. Until then, this is time wasted.
2)this could be reasonable, except other than golems we just don't have any villager combatants...and golems are beyond useless due to their extreme slowness. We do have Hero of the Villager, though, which is kind of close to the same thing. Perhaps where Hero grants you discounts and you're forced to go to the villager to trade with them, Leadership could cause the villagers to hover nearby and maybe toss you things based on concise events you're experiencing...for example, if you're hungry and a villager has food maybe they'll throw you some or if a piece of armor breaks and there's an armorsmith nearby they'll throw you a replacement piece. Keep in mind that the villager will prioritize safety over following the leader, so you might have to chase after them when they rush inside.
3)Again, it's a matter of non-villager combatants. It could potentially be quite dangerous to buff golems significantly enough to be viable in comparison to pillagers, but in their current state you're basically just delivering free iron to the pillagers. We also have outposts.
4)we already have pillager captains. Killing them messes with your karma.
