Can you add enhancements to the PS4 edition like bashing or Fire Protection so on and so on it would be a nice addition to just a plain Shield even though the shield itself is fairly nice also adding maybe iron Shields or Diamond Shield or Emerald Shield and each of those or even a ruby shield for fire protection and each type of Shield gives a different type of enhancement and, better mending would help with with costs of fixing an item like my Infinity bow witch is about 200 xp to repair now as of right now only leather items seem to get mending enhancements but would be nice to lower repair costs for hard to make item's. And not sure if the Shield enhancements are in the making on another update.

But personally I don't like the idea of Diamond/Ruby etc shields....but what I WOULD like would be more enchantments for shields..
You're right that we've only got (on Java at least) 'Mending', 'Unbreaking' & 'Curse of vanishing' but I would like stuff like :-
'Knockback' - if mob hits you, they get knocked back giving you some extra breathing space
'Blast Protection' - Adds extra protection from explosion, like from creepers, TNT & Ghast attacks
'Fire Aspect' - if a mob attacks you with your shield up - the mob gets set on fire
'Smite' - when a [non-projectile] mob attacks (Zombie,Spiders, Wither Skeletons, Magma Slimes etc) - they get a % attack damage back at them
& a totally new unique enchantment for those mobs that fire stuff at you:-
'Rebound' - When attacked by Projectile firing mobs (ghasts,blazes,Guardians,skeletons) .. the projectile rebounds directly back to the mob & they get the damage instead (great for 'Return to sender').
Shields need to be nerfed before they can get any benefits; for example, adding Blast Protection to shields as they are is pointless because they negate ALL damage (except from non-mob/player initiated explosions), as well as reduce or negate knockback, and in some cases (unarmed zombies), make you virtually immune:
Most non-damage effects of ranged attacks (such as being set on fire by a fireball, or poisoned by a poisonous arrow) are prevented, while being set on fire by a flaming arrow is not. Knockback from both melee attacks and projectiles is entirely nullified, while knockback from explosions is reduced to one block or less.
Blockable attacks include mob/player melee attacks, arrows, fireballs, thrown items such as tridents and snowballs (all non-magical projectiles), damage from Thorns (also includes spines of pufferfish), and some explosions (e.g. creeper explosions or TNT ignited by another player are blockable, but not TNT ignited by yourself or by a redstone mechanism). Shields block the majority of guardian/elder guardian lasers, but like armor, doesn't protect against any other magical damage.
Zombies without any weapons will not deal any damage to the player, nor damage the shields durability.
Creeper explosions deal 0 damage to the player.
Wither skeletons will not inflict the wither effect when hit by them.
Burning zombies will not set the player on fire.
Husks will not apply the Hunger effect.
Strays will not apply the Slowness effect.
For comparison, prior to 1.9 swords blocked 50% of blockable damage sources (the same sources affected by armor) while providing no other benefits other than blocking attacks from any direction (this IMO is a major drawback of shields and I'd rather rely on armor, of which 1.14 is making particularly good since you can now combine all Protection enchantments, and even before you can make better armor, including the effects of armor penetration, than what I wear in 1.6.4).
Yes but it would be nice to craft and enchant them yourself different sheild different armors not plain wood and iron. Having sheilds that do everything takes away from a huge part of the game. And I'd like to make a diamond sheild to match my armor sets they make a diamon horse aromor so why not a sheild?
