Hey all, my buddy and I were talking at work today and I thought of a couple neat mobs and structures to add to Minecraft: pirate ships and Illusionist towers! I feel like the surface of the ocean could use some loving just as the bottom of it did, and pirate ships could fix that. So, on a pirate ship, you’ll find pirates (obviously). A dozen or so pirates and a pirate captain. Defeating the pirates may net you an cutlass, that lets you swipe faster that a sword and does slightly less damage than say, a diamond sword. Defeating the pirate captain will make him drop his pirate captain’s hat, which will give you some sort of buff (didn’t think of which one though). Inside the pirate ship is chest containing gold, iron, emeralds, diamonds, and others treasures! Inside the captain’s quarters is a unique parrot you can tame. It’d also be funny to hear a pirate go “arrr!” in a villager’s voice (the pirate captain would go “arrr!” in an Illager’s voice)
An Illusioner Tower would spawn in say...an extreme hills biome, and is a big ol’ tower filled with Illusionists. Inside would be great loot such as enchanting books, lapis lazuli, glowstone, brewing stands and potions, bookshelves, lecterns, and an enchanting table at the top! Plus, it’d make use of the Illusionist mob.
Also, in one of them, you can find a lone speciemen of the elusive Mooshroom! Either the pirates found one and captured it, or the Illusioners used their magic on a poor cow. Up to your imagination. I feel as if Mooshrooms are far too rare for how useful they really are, and it’d be cool too see them more than, well, never.
I had many more, but those are the few I thought would be neat for the game. The pirate ships could also have trader ships nearby, with normal villagers and loot, but that may be too much.
Hope to get some good criticism and hope 4J and Mojang take this into consideration! Thanks!
I'm not sure if I like the idea of randomly finding a ship floating on top of the water. If Illusioners aren't already naturally spawning, I could get behind the Illusioner tower depending on how rare it is. (After all, you described a lot of bookshelves, a free enchanting table and a guaranteed mooshroom spawn.)

Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.
Feel free to drop by for a chat whenever.
If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.

It could always be teleporting like the Wandering Trader to simulate “moving”, lol.
Yeah, Illusioners aren’t natural mobs, in Java they require commands and they aren’t in Bedrock at all. Lol I like the loot I suggested too, they’re things that you can’t find naturally yet and a tower gauntlet of enemies to claim them would be fun!
Totally on board, but they should probably at least kinda make the illionist less powerful and maybe they could have a very rare mob: the pirate cow, its kinda like the llamas of the wandering traders they just added, but with a pirate costume and when the cow is killed everybody on the ship will attack you. I dunno just a weird idea.

I’d personally stick with the Mooshroom, I’m sure pirates would be take a lot of pride over finding such a rare specimen. In lore, they were probably using the mushroom stew (or in the rare case it’s a brown Mooshroom, suspicious stew) as a renewable food source while out at sea. I kind of had the idea they would aggro on you immediately, but yeah, I think if they don’t getting near the Mooshroom should set them off.

Pirates may use Tridents and Crossbows. And actually, they possibly can make raids but on ships.
My Suggesions:

Fossil Structures, New Creatures and New Dimension: link
Yeah, that would add an extra hint of challenge. So if they can make raids on ships, they would add trader ships that pirates can raid?

Both of those have sort of been added
I’m not sure how so?
I'd be on board with this, definitely great ideas.
Nope.wav
Glad you agree! I feel like more structures in more biomes would make Minecraft all that more fun!

A lore friendly dungeon fitting for an unused mob that fits the theme/ does not seem out of place?
Adding Illagers/Pillagers to the high seas in addition to the now beaming with live and adventure
filled oceans (while also giving a some explanations as to why there are ship wreckages to begin
with). Also more reasons to explore dungeons, aquire loot/plunder! ARR!
Oh btw... I take the pirate ships will be immobile building props (like the wreckages but... well...
not so wrecked I guess?) on top of the water surface were the pirates
would spawn...similar to the Pillager towers/bases we now find strewn about the countryside?
-So far... Support.-
I like adventuring and treasure hunting.^^
