I posted the original thread on back in January. It- and the purpose behind this thread- can be found below. When Minecraft Forum announced it would become archived next month, I realized this thread sits on top the entire suggestions forum. And to anyone curious as to what the heck this thing was, they might pop over here. So, let me tell you the tale of the Suggestions Forum.
The Suggestions Forum is designed to be a place where creativity flourishes. You can imagine your own future Minecraft updates, and post here for feedback. Effort is key to a good suggestion, as you will often find many replies dig deep into every little detail a suggestion brings. There are many examples of "bad suggestions" on this forum. But there are a noticeable few that stand out, and emerge as spectacular posts. You'll have to find them yourself.
Have fun reading this amazing forum.
----
A lot of people come to this site and just want to put down all their various ideas into the game. Many times they are simple, unlike so many frequent posters here who go to tremendous length to create a "quality post". Those can be fun to make, but also tiresome and daunting. The result is less prospective suggestors and more low-effort posts; as many who just want to jot down their ideas are now forced into creating longer more detailed descriptions and falling prey to an endless stream of support and no support.
Sometimes you just want to have fun. Like much time can be said on a thread suggesting a new aesthetic flower? That's where this thread can come in. Here you may suggest a small idea like a new flower, weapon or block.
For example, the flower biome. Notch could add a biome with giant flowers and bumblebee mobs. It would be a rare biome but be very fun to explore!
I feel like, since around 2014 when I just read the forums without an account, the quality of suggestions has gone downhill and nobody wants to seriously participate. I've been coming to these forums once or twice every month since I got bored of explaining why poorly written first-and-last-post suggestions are so obviously bad.
I know that this is a taboo thing to say but, this is the last low-effort idea filter taken away from the suggestion forum. Small Suggestions would at least catch the eye of a few first posters who wanted to suggest these really small ideas, and people debating higher-effort ideas would shrug it off. Nowadays almost all of the top few suggestions were posted in the last week if they aren't bumped from 2 years ago, and all of those suggestions will be on page three or four by next week.
I support bringing this back.

My avatar is a texture from a small block game I made in Python. It's not very good and it probably won't work if you install it.
I'm very alone in my Minecraft worlds as I don't have a very good internet connection to run a server. If you're like me, you might be interested in my Posse mod suggestion.
Ok i think they shall add special biome part into extreme hills, and upgrade them also. More overhangs, like in old minecraft, large boulders or crystals or something else ...
also i need obsidian half slabs... good for mob farms

Cool idea!
We should have better terrain, and the more slabs the merrier! I definitely agree with you on colorful glowstone.
If you don't mind, do you have any ideas for the flowered tree? It sounds like a really neat concept and I'd love if you expanded a bit on it.
Recently Curse Media (who owns these forums) was sold to Fandom by Twitch. As part of European law (GDPR), users in the European Economic Area had to consent to have their data transferred from Twitch to Fandom. The thread was created by a user from the this area and did not respond to repeated attempts to give consent for the forum to transfer his data from Twitch to Fandom.
If they put in a support request to restore their data the thread can be restored, but until then it will be gone. What I can do is request that this thread be stickied to replace the previous thread, and then if the original user reclaims their data and has the thread restored I can merge this thread into that one.

I'd like to have in buffet worlds floating islands also possibility to have all biomes and also higher diamonds to be playable on survival, simply islands mostly spawn over 16. also that mineshafts are problem when they are everywhere floating in the air they shall be inside islands only ...
A crafting recipe that turns slabs back into full blocks. Maybe 3 slabs all in one column for 3 full blocks. Sometimes you need to make them back into blocks so you can craft stuff with them.

This is needed ASAP. But I think it should just be two slabs next to each other. Move chisel recipes to stonecutter and have this fix slabs (and stairs if possible).

In retrospect, yeah. 2 slabs for one full block would make more sense, since 3 blocks = 6 slabs in a crafting table.
Edit: And stonecutter splits a block into 2 slabs. Forgot about that.

The stonecutter shouldn't just be limited to stone, and even though the name is the way it is, you could say that it's a "cutter made out of stone" (did not take that from anyone obviously). Like putting a log in there could show stripped and bark blocks and planks would show stairs, slabs, fences, fence gates, etc. The stonecutter could be used like a chisel.
There should also be many block varients that are stonecutter exclusive, like brick blocks with missing bricks or stone pillars.
Maybe a new trade with a wandering trader which would be some resources (food, ores, wheat + seeds) for a map which would act similar to the shipwreck maps, being able to show the location of a village on the map.

How about a "sandstorm" event in the desert during a thunderstorm? Sure, it makes sense that for simplicity sake you can see lightning and hear thunder in a desert and get no rain, but that is kind of boring. As someone who lives in a desert in real life, rain is indeed a blessing. And we enjoy it while we can, however, one of the coolest parts of living in a desert, is the massive sand/duststorms that sweep across miles/kilometers as a harbinger of the torrential rainfall that is to come. The new(ish) snow drift system during storms in snowy and cold biomes can and should definitely be applied to the desert biomes, just with sand dunes. It would only happen during a thunderstorm, which would be what is needed to trigger a sandstorm, triggering the sand dune effect. I get that you have to stay up for a while before a storm becomes a thunderstorm (at least I think that is how it works) and may have phantoms annoying you, but I think it would be cool to experience at least once. Personally.
Hm...in retrospect perhaps it should happen during a basic storm too..I feel that this being a rare occurrence that ONLY happens during a thunderstorm would make it poontless to most players...idk.

Totally agree! It is strange how there is weather in every other biome, but instead of snow/rain deserts just have darkened skies (makes no sense if you think about it). Sandstorms would help make deserts feel really unique!
I'm not sure about sand dunes- I usually dislike the concept, but your comparison to snow layers is a valid one. I think it'd work, hopefully when Mojang gets around to upgrading the desert biome like they set out to do last minecon!

Pillagers should drop more arrows, and should have a chance to drop emeralds like the other Illagers.
Ravagers should also get better loot. I suggest making them have a loot table similar to that of the various Village chests, dropping 2 random items from each village chest loot table.

What happened to the original thread?
My suggestions: Enhancements - Throwable Fire Charges - On Phantoms and Elytra. Also check out The Minecraftian Language. This signature is not here to waste your space.

Bring back the cyan flowers from pocket edition. Because they were nice.
I don't even play Minecraft much anymore yet here I am on the Minecraft forums for some reason...

We have smooth stone blocks and slabs, why not stairs?

Make a way to convert slabs and stairs back in normal blocks. Maybe with a little lost? Like 2 stairs -> 2 blocks?
Maybe a new trade with a wandering trader which would be some resources (food, ores, wheat + seeds) for a map which would act similar to the shipwreck maps, being able to show the location of a village on the map.
Full Support. It just seems logical.
