I think that maybe book shelves could be changed from a decor block to a storage block for books and enchanted books. It would be more realistic and you could have an actual library. I also think there should be undo, redo, and copy and paste.

Each of the ideas (bookshelfs that hold items & improved book writing/editing) has been previously proposed in various forms…
Expansion to detail the specifics of how you envision bookshelves becoming "a storage block for books and enchanted books" is needed.
(While book related, "undo, redo, and copy and paste." probably merit a separate to detail the mechanics of the changes you are proposing to the text entry interface for books.)

WARNING: I have an extemely "grindy" playstyle; YMMV — if this doesn't seem fun to you, mine what you can from it & bin the rest.
Sounds too much like a wishlist. But, if you are asking for bookshelves as storage blocks, I don't like the idea. First of all, you never told us if the texture would depend on how many books there were in the bookshelf. Would they always be unrealistically full or would they cause ridiculous lag storing all of the books, the book data, and how many there are? And storing all of the edits you made on that book? The lag would be ridiculous.
No support unless you can figure out a way to fix this major issue.
(I am aware that people don't like when people give no support for lag. But, this issue would be out of hand, storing a lot of data in each book, in bookshelves which are storage devices, which had a tendency to lag (not sure if it still does, since my Xbox one is better than my Xbox 360) just sounds like it would cause excessive lag just when I want a decorative library.)

wishlist
I would call this a Wishlist but he has only 1 thing on the entire post.
Hey guys I'm James, I used to be a noob but now I'm not, I finally figured out how to use TextCraft so here's a banner for one of my suggestions.
