I want peaceful mode and hardcore mode to have a 'wedding' of sorts. These are three linked ideas, which are similar enough that I don't think they merit separate topics.
1) Add blaze powder to nether fortress chest loot tables. This allows peaceful mode players to still progress to The End and defeat the Dragon (which spawns in peaceful and still attacks a little), in combination with buying ender pearls off cleric villagers.
2) Peaceful hardcore mode. No hostile mobs spawn whatsoever, but you have one life only, hunger and health as per hardcore, and you can starve to death as per hardcore. 1) also logically should come with this. Animals and golems deal damage as per hardcore.
3) An alternate to 1) and 2) - 'spawner/boss' mode. Similar to 2), but hostile and neutral mobs can spawn exclusively from spawners. EDIT: Withers and dragons can be summoned as well. In addition, three other features could optionally be added:
3a) mobs from structures spawning ambiently (e.g. guardians, pillagers),
3b) mobs in structures from world gen still spawning and never despawning (if they are able to),
3c) and mobs in structures from world gen still spawning but being able to despawn (if able to - I believe only Drowned from ruins despawn while zombie villagers, elder guardians, witches, and illagers in mansions do not in normal gameplay).
1). Support. It's a shame there is no way to reach the End through peaceful mode.
2). If animals and golems deal damage, is this really peaceful mode anymore? Regardless, I agree for the benefits of a peaceful hardcore mode. I think it should be accomplished by combining difficulty and game mode. Peaceful is a world difficulty that effects your surroundings, while hardcore is a player mode where one death = perm death, along with creative and survival.
3). I don't know if I can support this one. This seems to move towards a complete redesign of the system, where you get to customize how the world plays out. Maybe I'd like it as a separate suggestion, but as an extension of hardcore peaceful I cannot support.
How about golems and animals never getting aggressive no matter what the player doesfor 2), and make 3) its own gamemode, where only bosses, structure mobs, and spawner mobs can spawn; and only ambient spawners can despawn as the other two are either expensive to summon, or only-spawned-once-per-world, respectively?
