Support, not having them is a logical inconsistency with the way Minecraft is organized. Of course, maybe Mojang might wish to set up a separate tier system for this that doesn't necessarily cleave to the stone/iron/diamond system. For example, it might be singular weapons that are the tier--bow, crossbow, sling, etc with the abilities and quirks of those weapons setting up the tiering system.
What I am trying to get at is that Minecraft is set during the Iron age correct? I think this because steel tools have yet to be implemented in the game, and iron is what we have available. Why would they use stone arrowheads in the iron age?

Can you add arrows with different types of heads? Instead of just flint arrows you can make iron ones which will do slightly more damage.
