Minecraft is a game that has two unique halves to its gameplay: building stuff and looking for stuff. now the reason I play minecraft (and many of you as well) is because of the urge to build great and majestic things, but without furniture, houses seem to be ultimately pointless.
Crafting furniture would be a decent solution, but I think what we need is to make furniture the NEW DIAMONDS
Furniture is found in dungeons and chests, and coincide with matching sets, so you would want to collect them all!
adding this feature to the game would successfully tie in the urge to build with the urge to explore Because it gives your house a sense of larger purpose that can be extended indefinitely.
also, finding a wicked piece of furniture gives you the drive to build something FOR that furniture to be housed in. if it was crafted, you would be building furniture for the house, but If you reverse it, there is a type of urgency connected to how lucky you are for finding matching furniture in the first place!
This would be ok for special furniture like trophies and rare stuff, but for just normal wood chairs and tables, I think you should craft, like in the fancy pack mod.
hmmm.. one of the best ideas I've seen on this forum ! I like it !
I'd like to find myself a golden bed hehe
but i'm sorry what do you mean by matching sets ?

Like stone table, chairs, bed, toilet, gold chairs, table, bed toilet...
Although we could use we could use more craftable furniture, but some rare ones you can't craft sould nice. A golden bed would look nice. About about a solid gold fiddle?

Wouldn't a solid gold fiddle be very heavy and soung crummy?

Wait what? Why would I for some reason find random chair or bed or candlestick in a dungeon?
I would be wanting to find out who hell is making them and leaving them behind. Must be some superintelligent mob if the player can't make the same furniture.
Sorry man, I have to say NO.
Secondly, what's wrong with say, finding diamonds or gold bars in a chest? Why does it have to be furniture of all things?

Things like trophies would have to be found in a dungeon though. (If you want a trophy room filled with trophies, you gotta work for it)
