Idea randomly popped in to my head and i had to write it down, What if you were able to change the block placement speed? As in an option in the settings or a command that you could change it (as an example) ~.5 blocks a second to something like ~10 blocks a second. It would help builders and idle farmer instead of using an auto-clicker or just clicking really fast. I wouldn't know how hard it would be to code into the game because i'm not a programmer but it would be a very helpful addition to the game for almost anyone for anything.

How would this help builders? I can't think of any situations within vanilla minecraft where I've been building and needed to place blocks faster. A player can already place blocks as fast or faster than they can walk/fly so I really don't see how increasing the block placement speed would help since it's more a matter of getting to where the next block would be placed. While creating automated farms, grinders and fishing holes can be an effecting way to accumulate items Mojang has a long history of nerfing such things so make them LESS powerful rather than adding features to make them more exploitable. The developers of the game didn't create it so a player would stand in 1 place spam clicking a block or doing nothing at all to accumulate items and jeb_ has been known to maintain the stance that things like Mob farms are 'item dupes' as far as he is concerned. I'm not even sure what you're doing that you think placing blocks faster would make work better but I see no use for this personally which is why I'm saying No Support.
I, also, would like to see some examples of when faster block placement might be useful…
My anecdotal experience is that the block placement speed is already fast enough that avoiding placing 'extra' blocks when laying a floor or ceiling requires quite a bit of attention (and is not always avoidable).
Making the speed adjustable might be a generally good thing as players could better customize the interface, however. (In the same way that varying mouse sensitivity allows the interface to be adapted to ones personal preferences. )

Well instamining is currently survival-only. I dunno why, but Mojang seem not too care about instamine and instabuild (yes that exist, look at players.dat).
Doubt they will add that, but SUPPORT

What are you talking about? First, this isn't a suggestion about instamining or instabuilding as far as I'm aware. I'm not sure if you're trying to suggest a different addition or just didn't read the first post very well. Second, what are you talking about when you tell me to look at players.dat? I have players folders with .dat files assigned to UUIDs in saves folders but according to my computer there is no file in .minecraft called players.dat. It sounds to me like you're suggesting adding automining and autobuilding to Minecraft which would be a massive change and a different suggestion you should make a different thread for or just comment on threads already about that like this one https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft-java-edition/suggestions/2765137-auto-mining-machine.
I'm not opposed to the idea of changing block placement speed, but I'd rather it be a little bit slower. A lot of times when I build I am walking backwards or sideways while placing blocks and the placement speed is just fast enough to result in placing an extra block incorrectly every so often.

I'm not sure if I agree with the OP, but I do agree with the idea of slightly customizing your block placement speed.
My use case is when I'm building a floor or ceiling - if I use the regular walk speed while holding down "place", every ~10 blocks I'll get a double placement (so instead of a nice long row 1 block thick, I'll have 9 blocks 1 block thick, and the 10th will be 2 thick).
Putting up a speed 1 beacon gives the opposite, where I move slightly too fast (so it skips the 10th block instead of doubling the 9th). This is only frustrating on extremely large builds, but annoying nonetheless.
Replying to the comments, I was think of it as a sort of instabuild only with more customization because the fly speed in creative is too fast for just holding down right click to build. One of the only reasons that I had the idea is I find the /fill command to be annoying to use as I'm not the best at commands (i mainly play survival) but I am up for any reasonable debate over the idea. Also I'm talking about the time in-between the blocks being placed not the time it takes for a block itself to be placed.

Can you clarify 'instabuild' a bit further? I understand that you're having an issue with the speed of creative flight and your ability to place blocks quickly enough, are we talking about in vanilla or is this a mod that's bothering you? Are you talking about placing 1 block after another, holding right-click, while flying in creative that you end up out-pacing the line you want to make? The more I think about it the more I wonder if it's even possible. Minecraft operates at 20tps and I'm pretty sure that that is the block placement speed. Since it'll take 1/20 of a second for the game to know if a block was placed then it couldn't really let you attach another block to it. If the issue I've described is your problem then I think the best solution would be to add something like a /flyspeed command which is something I could totally get behind. I'm instantly suspicious of any suggestion that starts with the prefix insta or auto.
No, not creative building or flying. This is pure survival.
What happens is I'm walking sideways, holding "place" while walking along a row. If I have no speed, every few blocks it double-places (so if I'm working on a ceiling above, it means it places the block on top of the block I previously set, instead of next to it). If I have speed 1, it skips 1 every 10 blocks or so.
A more clear demonstration of what I mean would be replanting a farm while holding "place" - if you have a speed 1 beacon while walking and holding replant, you'll skip 1 every 10 farm plots (but this isn't an issue for no speed beacon, since you can't double-replant crops).
A better solution would be some way to adjust my walk speed as a percentage of the maxmium, then I could set up a speed 1 beacon, but limit my walking speed to 90%. That would also solve the ticks issue.

I was responding to hdbanana0 who, as the original poster of the suggestion, just responded to clarify what he was talking about when he made it. Since I'm not sure exactly what he means by 'instabuild' I was looking to clarify exactly what is issue is since he's talking specifically about flying in creative and being able to place blocks quickly enough. If we can understand the issue he is having and get the original post updated then we have have a meaningful conversation about his suggestion but right now everyone seems to have a slightly different understanding of what exactly is being suggested and why it would be beneficial.
The situation you're describing is the same being observed by ScotMiser and Badprenup, a situation I'm familiar with myself, but if it isn't what the OP is talking about then critiquing what would solve your issue wouldn't exactly be on-topic. If his problem is moving too quickly in flight, which seems to be the case, then I would think a /flyspeed command where he could slow himself down would be the best response since I believe the blocks already place as quickly as the game can without placing multiple blocks in a single game tick. Your solution would work to solve your problem (and I'd definitely support something like /speed 1-100%) but if it isn't for flight speed then it wouldn't help the OP. I think most people would agree that the ability to increase or reduce creative flight speed AND the ability to set the players speed from 1-100% could be welcome addition to the game but if the OP responds saying "I have an instabuilding mod that's really slow because it can't work at full fight speed, it's limited by block placing speed." then we haven't understood the suggestion at all.
I'm talking about vanilla gameplay with no mods, I don't even know of any blockspeed changer mods hence I created this thread. I would also be happy with a flyspeed and playerspeed as it would help a multitude of people and not be OP. I also think that the game Could support faster block placement speeds "not as in a instabuild" as you don't already place blocks 20 times a second which would mean it could increase the speed, It wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea but I think that all of these ideas would be a helpful addition even if they are just creative commands.

Isn't block placement instant already? If you place blocks faster than you already can, you wouldn't know what you're building.
