I like hamsters, it would be neat if they could be in minecraft. They would walk around, kill plants, and get fat. I think they would only be able to reverse 1 stage of crop growth at a time, as just deleting the crop would be a lot for a hamster to do. Cats also chase hamsters, but hamsters can go underground in hamster holes. a hamster hole is a block that looks like grass but it has a hole in the middle. There are 2 hamster holes for each hamster, and hamster holes can only be harvested with silk touch. If you silk touch a hamster hole with a hamster in it, when you place the hamster hole somewhere else, the hamster will spawn above it. If you punch a mob while holding a hamster hole the hamster will jump out and run to a hamster hole within 4 chunks, if there are no hamster holes in 4 chunks, it will run 16 blocks away from you in any direction, and make one. Hamsters can be tamed with cookies, carrots, or cake. it takes 3 cookies to tame a hamster, 15 carrots, or place one cake next to its hole, and it will eat 2 slices off and then be tamed. The fattest a hamster can get is its belly being the size of a player skull. When you tame them, you can punch a crop, and the hamster will start eating nearby crops of the same type. They wont eat crops or flowers if tamed, only grass. Hamsters also drive off silverfish and endermites. Its fat also affects its ability to do so, as the bigger the hamster is, the more scared the silverfish and endermites will be, they will only attack a hamster if it has 1 fat, meaning its body is the same size as its head. They can be bred with flowers. A hamsters fat levels can range from 1 - 100 1 being its belly the same size of its head, and 100 being its belly the size of a player head. Carrots give them 5 fat, cookies 20, 1 cake slice 25, grass gives 3, and bread gives 10. For each 10 fat a hamster has, it gets 1 health added to its health bar. Its base health is 5. Hamster armor can be found in abandoned mineshafts, as the old miners used to have hamsters that fought off silverfish in their mines. You can right click a hamster with hamster armor or elytra to equip it. Elytra hamsters are very useful, as they can scout out places ahead of you. Fatter hamsters fly slower, but it is still a helpful thing, as you can see what they see if you hold an ender eye within 5 chunks, though blurred, you can also control where they go, and they can go up and down, not just glide, because they are lightweight. Hamsters can climb on fences, iron fences, cobblestone walls, ladders, and vines. When a hamster is killed it drops 3 hamster hairs, which you can craft a cat toy with, if you put 9 of them in a crafting table. If you drop the cat toy with Q, the cat will go after it and it will roll around. Btw i purposely made that useless because i like hamsters and they shouldn't be killed.
This needs to be properly formatted: the Wall-o-TEXT™ obscures what are likely some interesting ideas.
Some ideas abstracted from the above:
tamable
breedable
creates its own lairs (holes)
scares off silverfish & endermites
eats crops if untamed
climbs walls/ladders/vines
has a drop that crafts into a deliberately minimal use item
can be equiped with armor [!?] found in chests
can be equiped with an elytra [!!?] and function as a drone camera for scouting [!!!?]
Quite a package.
It would be interesting to see these various properties fleshed out and formatted so one didn't feel the need to rewrite the proposal in order to see what was there… [I'm far from certain the above list mentions everything in the OP]

This seems like a pretty neat idea, but the wall of text does make it slightly difficult to get all the details. Splitting it into paragraphs and maybe even some images would make it much easier to accurately critique this suggestion.

I'm a Whovian squid who likes drawing.
I'm also quite nerdy with an interest in game developing and the concept of a fourth spatial dimension.

If you thing something is useless, then why suggest it?
Where did i say it was useless?
[edit] oh you mean the cat thing? Well the reason i said that was because i just felt like it should drop something, but there was nothing actually good it could drop, i just get really bothered when mobs are added but they dont have any drops, and I also just didnt want people to have 2 reasons to kill them, the first being that they eat crops.
Perhaps hamster hairs are involved in hamster armor somehow? Great idea btw, a little... Overkill when it comes to the elytra, however this is pretty amazing, and I would love to see that in game in vanilla minecraft. I have a question, tho: will a cat really chase down a hamster the size of a player skull? That might be bigger than the cat!

Hamsters are a neat idea, but not really workable in minecraft. They're too small to jump 1 block high, so they wouldn't ever be able to move.

My suggestions: Enhancements - Throwable Fire Charges - On Phantoms and Elytra. Also check out The Minecraftian Language. This signature is not here to waste your space.
Cows cant jump at all, so them jumping 1 block is really just walking through odd terrains
