so, as a big fan of the aztec civilization and as a big fan of constructing aztec buildings in minecraft, I tried to think of a way minecraft could be more.. "aztec"
EVERY TIME YOU SEE THIS >>> >>> well it's because its another subject (cocoa, jaguars, etc.)
first, as many people on the forums suggested, make biomes bigger ! so that we could find huge desert and tropical forests.
second, I've seen many suggestions for chocolate but they were more like.. easter bunny chocolate. I'd do it more "traditional chocolate" anyway, here is my take on it :
1. cocoa trees should be hell of a rare thing to find (only in rain forests) [they should not be thick as trees as we know them, but more small. maybe as thick as the fences. they should be as voluminous as the conventional trees]
2. cocoa trees should grow 2-3 cocoa beans groups (each group of 4-5 cocoa beans attached to the trunk on the nearly top of the tree)
3. these cocoa beans take 2-3 days to grow to their maximum size
4. the beans should be mineable but only with the fist (tools should break the bean)
5. when the tree is cut down, it drops all of his growed cocoa beans, wood AND cocoa seeds (2 or 3 used to plant another cocoa tree)
6. the seeds should be planted only on tropical soil
7. seeds can also be used to make some kind of "energy drink"
[] []
[] []
[] []
where = cocoa seed = cocoa powder (explanations later) = bucket of water
gives 10-15% speed boost for everything you do for 4-5 minutes + heals 1 and a half heart
8. cocoa beans should be "grinded" to make cocoa with a pestle and mortar
pestle and mortar craft :
[] [] []
[] []
[] []
where = stick = bowl
the durability would be 20 uses
a stone pestle and mortar can also be made. same recipe as wood one. [] [] [] [] [] []
^this is a stone.. let me guess. mortar ? (I honestly don't know which is the pestle and which is the mortar.)
[] [] [] []
[] []
^and this is the pestle (I think)
combine the 2 using the same recipe as the wood one and you get a stone pestle and mortar (durability = x10 the wood one)
right-clicking this pestle and mortar item open up an inventory-like menu with simply 2 empty squares where you put whatever you wanna grind and a bigger square which is the final product. (offers possibilities for future uses and not just chocolate)
sooooooo, you put your 2 cocoa beans into the pestle and mortar and that gives you cocoa powder (kinda)
crafting recipes for chocolate :
[] []
where = sugar = cocoa powder = bucket of milk
^ gives you chocolate bar (and your now-empty bucket). stackable (x4), heals 2 and a half heart + a 5% speed boost (again for everything you do) for 5 minutes
[] []
where = sugar = cocoa powder = bucket of water
^ gives you chocolate drink (and 2 of your buckets). not stackable, placable (yes, like cake), each use heals you 3 and a half hearts + 10% speed boost for 5 minutes. contains 4 uses
I did not put chocolate milk because that is not the traditional way. :]
also, I think minecraft needs pimientos
"ay! ay! ay!"
wild pimientos grows in the grass areas 0 to 3 blocks away from sand (horizontaly) and 0 to 10 blocks away from water (horizontaly). mine it with your hands, obtain pimiento.
grind pimiento using pestle and mortar and obtain 3 pimiento seeds, which you can plant on dirt "0 to 3 blocks away from sand (horizontaly) and 0 to 10 blocks away from water (horizontaly)"
OR
0 to 7 blocks away from water and sand block below the dirt block you wanna plant the pimiento
where = pimiento
exception to this rule : pimientos shall not grow in winter biomes
pimientos takes [prepare for a new take on farming] 8 real time minutes of sunlight to grow green and 20 real time minutes to grow red
no, torches do not work. you need sunlight
green pimientos can be eaten for 2 hearts
red for 3 hearts
ok so here comes a handy part, just tell me what you think. pimientos offer your body a resistance to fire/explosion. green pimientos gives you 10% resistance and red pimientos gives you 20% resistance, each for 4 minutes. effect is not stackable (except for the biggest one law), but the time is ; eat a green pimiento, you are resistant for 4 minutes. eat 2 greens, you are for 8 minutes, eat 3 you are for 12. up to a maximum of 30 minutes. also, eat a green, you are 10% resistant for 4 minutes, eat a red, you are now 20% resistant for 8 minutes. get it ?
(little pimientos icons on the bottom of the screen shows how much time resistance you've got left)
Bonus recipes !
[] []
where = sugar = cocoa powder = bucket of water = green or red pimiento
^ Pimiento Chocolate drink. not stackable, placeable, each use heals you 3 and a half hearts + 10% speed boost for 5 minutes + fire resistance your pimiento gives. contains 4 uses
[] []
where = sugar = cocoa powder = bucket of milk = pimiento
^ gives you pimiento chocolate bar. stackable(x4), heals 2 and a half heart + a 5% speed boost (again for everything you do) for 5 minutes + fire resistance of your pimiento
Jaguars. spawn in dark areas of tropical forests, on the surface. needs at least 2 enormous trees (the ones with big branches) in a 55 blocks radius to spawn. 2 and more jaguars normally can't spawn in the same 40 blocks area, except for 4% of the time, groups of 2 can spawn.
could count like mini-bosses. they scare all of the other mobs away (which means no mobs can spawn on the surface 40 blocks away from a jaguar). which means that if you are in a tropical forest and don't see a single sheep, be afraid.
they are faster than you, jump like spiders. have 8 hearts. can climb trees to jump on you from above. good AI ; tend not to attack you from the front, but from the sides and back.
pretty good oponent, but not too tough in my opinion
when killed, drops you 1-2 jaguar leather
where = jaguar leather
^craft this and get a cool carpet ! (ooh!)

these are my ideas so far. tell me what you think
The best thing to do is make one topic on one item or suggestion, then wait a few hours, then post your next idea.
Lol have you ever seen GreyAcumen's threads? Those are at least 2 times the size of this.
Anyways, good idea! I support!
But his are well structured.
I think this might be a bit much to put in. Some things would be fun but some should be left out.
