Wind is a major mechanic that can open many different possibilities. Like tornadoes, blizzards, waves, and of course, my favourite...SANDSTORMS (INSERT Da Rude's sandstorm clip here)! Too hard to survive? Well. That is where a new ore comes Into play! Copper! Use this nifty new ore to create fantastical devices to give you a leg up when the weather turns against you. Below is a list of some events and items I would add in this update, followed by their descriptions.
+ new ore added to accompany the proposed "wind/weather" update
+ used in specialized equipment to aid player in survival mode (see WATER PUMP and GYRO)
+ causes leaves on trees, grass, and flowers to sway accompanied by the whooshing sound of wind and the sound of leaves rustling
+ causes the "falling sand" particle effect seen under floating sand to "fall" in the direction the wind is blowing
+ is a factor in the following events:
+ ultra rare thunderstorm event in plains
+ small tornadoes strip leaf blocks from trees, breaks glass, and "dissolves" (replaces target block with block of air) weak blocks such as dirt, sand, etc.
+ large tornadoes "dissolves" all blocks in the AOE [area of effect] except for end stone and obsidian blocks. (The lower the blast resistance of the block, the more of that type of block will dissolve)
+ rare thunderstorm event in snowy ("cold/frozen") biomes
+ either fills screen with 2 or 3 times more snow particles than the current snow animation, or causes blindness and slowness debuffs until sheltered
+ may cause blindness effect for 1 to 2 seconds if inside one
+ may be static, or kinetic (staying within 1-3 blocks of source block(s), or moving across the Biome)
+ ultra rare thunderstorm event in desert/mesa biomes
+(SEE BLIZZARD EFFECTS, SUB SAND FOR SNOW)
+ new equipment counteracts blindness and slowness effects caused by sandstorms or blizzards
+ 3 leather plus 3 light grey glass panes
+ assigned to the head slot (and replaces any headgear currently being worn)
+ durability decreases slowly overtime as they are worn in either sandstorm or blizzard events. Will not degrade otherwise
+ pushes mobs/players/boats 3-6 blocks in direction of wave dependent on wave size ( 1 block high, 2 blocks, or 3). Length does not affect this.
+ rare thunderstorm event in deep ocean biomes
+ breaks your boat and deals 1.5 damage to any occupants of boat. Also damages any swimming mobs/players in the AOE
+ 5 plus water blocks high
+ 1.5 seconds of bubble column mechanic (sinking) to all occupants of boat, and swimming mobs/players in AOE
+ super rare event in any biome (except desert/mesa/beach) caused by a lightning strike that happens at the end of a thunderstorm
+ potentially even triggered while raining, where 1/20 lightning fire block may ignore the rain rule and spread, and every fire block that spreads from the original will also ignore the rule, and so on
+ new equipment recipe used to fight wildfires
+ dispenser, water bucket, redstone, copper, and copper tube
+ must have copper tube connected to a water source that is at least 2×2×3 (2 water blocks by 2 water blocks creating a 4 block square, that is at least three blocks deep)
+ key component in new device, the "harbinger"
+ 3 copper ingots, Redstone, iron bar
+ new equipment used to warn the player of potential weather extremes
+ Gyro, daylight sensor, observer, 2 iron bars, map
I was going to include food ideas in this thread as well...but my battery is almost dead. This post took longer than the others. Will likely have a seperate post all together for a "Household update" suggestion. Going ocer food items, furniture, and other ideas.
