Alright so I heard about the new Sea Turtle and I thought "Why don't we just get a land turtle" So the features are this
*Appearance*
The Box turtle is a smaller version of a Sea Turtle but with a few key differences. The Box Turtle is smaller than a Sea Turtle (About the size of a player head). The Box Turtle Shell is much more of a box than a Sea Turtle's rectangle shell. The Box Turtle has Brown scales with a Black shell and yellow belly. The Box Turtle has little feet instead of flippers. The Box turtle also has a cute little tail
*Behavior*
The Box turtle will retreat into it's shell when attacked. It is a passive creature that spawns in Forests. They can be tamed when provided Pumpkins, Watermelons or Fish. When tamed Box Turtles follow players around much like a dog and can breed with the same mechanics as a Dog BUT they lay eggs in holes they dig. When the Player is attacked a Turtle can defend the player, it isn't afraid of any mob.(It only hides in it's shell when untamed) When a Creeper is about to blow up near the turtle, the turtle will go in it's shell and receive minimal damage.
So a tameable mob that behaves just like a wolf only it is more common, easier to tame, breeds on its own, and is even more helpful?
I think the box turtle, if added, needs to have a more unique use. Perhaps it would be better to not have it tameable at all, and just be an ambience mob like bats.

The Box turtle will retreat into it's shell when attacked. It is a passive creature that spawns in Forests. They roam the forests of Minecraft tending to their own needs. They can be tamed with a Pumpkin or watermelon seed. When a Creeper is about to blow up near the turtle, the turtle will go in it's shell and receive minimal damage. When tamed Turtles will not fight for players. They follow players but can be commanded to stay in one place.Turtles can have a player attach a chest to them, by shifting and pressing right click. The chest is fairly small and will be on the shell of the turtle. This mini chest has half the space of a normal chest. The chest can be accessed to store things. A player can pick up a turtle, when this is done the turtle sits on the player's head. The turtle will get off the player's head on command, or when the player is killed. When a player is killed the turtle will stay in the place where the player died, as long as it didn't die.
Example: A player is mining in a cave and finds diamonds. They place the diamonds on the turtle, which is on their head. The player is shot by a skeleton and dies. The player returns to the cave and retrieves their Turtle and diamond.
I like the original use. Losing all your items deep underground is the worst, and with this many would like to have a turtle following them around.
I suggest a couple changes following this use. Instead of putting the turtle on its head, I think it should follow the player around. Donkeys and Llamas are already a mobile chest mob, so I don't think you should be able to give the turtle a chest. Instead, what if the turtle, upon sensing the death of their master nearby, picks up all your items and puts them in its trusty shell? You can then right click the turtle and take your items out, but you never put items in. The shell would have five rows, enough for your armor and offhand. It's not chest, but a safety vault for your items.
Hostile mobs are passive towards the turtle, so it will patiently wait even in the far end. But you'll need to be patient too- the turtle doesn't move very fast. You have to decide between risking it for speed or going slow but safe.

(Please remind me of any holes in my suggestion!)

Sounds good?

People would probably abuse my suggestion ,so making only one or two following you and picking up items would be good.
