Hey, I have the idea that would make mine craft even better.... Salt!
What I'm suggesting:
Potatoes ( I will keep them but not the fries)
potato seed
potato crops
salt layer
salt sand
salt crystal
salt water
(biome) salt flats
Some ideas have already been removed.
Salt sand
Rarity: as common as clay
Use: attracts animals and make water salt water that you drown quicker in. Great for traps.
acts like sand and can be used to make ordinary water salt water when submerged. The water becomes more dense and you move slower.Collecting the water will leave salt crystals lying on the ground, 4 crystals per salt sand you put in. Reverse crafting available.
Potatoes
Earned by: Tilling grass could give you potato seeds.plant them like ordinary crops.
Uses: Eat for 1 1/2 hearts. cook for baked potato (sadly, no sour cream :sad.gif: ).
Salt Crystal
Earned by: mining salt layer for 2 and mining salt sand for 4.
Uses: builds salt layer and salt block. Can be placed like redstone wire that melts snow like a torch.
Salt Layer
It should look kinda like that. Another example:
It is basically a half block that you get in salt flats and sometimes at the bottom the sea.
crafting recipe:
No offense, but last time I checked Minecraft didnt have mcdonalds... I like the idea, however, of salt. Maybe a craftable black to retrieve it from the saltwater? And more natural uses for it. Not fries lol.
Sponge Bob has its own McDonalds. It is the Krustae Krab. This was already posted before, which is salty.

I am just a guy looking for good suggestions that are original, creative, and match the theme of Mine-craft. I have some mob ideas that I need help forming which is a community project.

you know, there are some advanced things in minecraft, and some suggestions have soda and hot air balloons!
For those who don't know... Salt is often found clumped and solidified along coasts. I like the idea of salt but not the greaser. Salt has been used for thousands of years. I think it should look different from an ore. Maybe a very light gravel? And it should be about as common as clay.
I would say that salt wouldn't be an ore, but it would be achieved by smelting a water bucket.
ty Randalpik i was thinking the samething to smelt a water bucket or something like that would make more sense.
even tho we DO mine salt. in RL Salt mines people. the block should look more like than ore. being pure white and mix of light gray. and with that there is 2 ways to get salt. and remember for the time being Water is Infinite.
Maybe salt would prevent food from going bad. Bad food would basically just look sort of moldy and rotten, and some things would rot faster than others. Fresh fish would rot very quickly, as well as fresh pork. Once cooked, fish takes days and days (day/night cycles) to go bad, and pork just takes a while longer. Placing salt in a container with meat would keep it from going bad.
If food goes bad, you just get fewer hearts back from eating it.

I don't know sled teams but I do know I put my dog on an electric treadmill once and dangled a chicken leg. Treadmill puppy ensued.
salt is used to preserve food, it could be used to preserve raw meat if the food were to ever go rotten
i did this in one night i tried to do it quickly i'll change tomorrow my mother is getting angry that I'm not getting ready for bed.
But still quite a lot of progress for one day, right?

Look up the page on Wikipedia and see how wonderful salt can be, beyond just something to put on potatoes.
