Seasons. It would be cool to go through summer, fall, winter, spring. Trees could be covered in snow in winter (or leafless), and they could turn orange/red/brown in fall. Plus it will give the people that have snow worlds a chance to not have to deal with snow for the rest of their minecraft lives :tongue.gif:.
Weather. I think it would be kind of a cool idea to incorporate blizzards, tornadoes, hurricanes, or something along those lines. Or even just rainy/snowy days. It would be a nice change to add things like that.
Statistics. This (I'd imagine) wouldn't be one of those crazy changes to the game that would affect gameplay, but I personally think it would be cool to see some stats in this game. There could be so many stats like: blocks placed, blocks destroyed, times died, days passed, total kills, kills on each creature/animal, amount of each tool made, number of things crafted, and any other things like that would be cool little things to check out every once in a while.
??? I don't really have a full thought out plan for this one, but I think there should be some sort of feeling of purpose in the game. Like ranks or levels (that probably wouldn't work and would be stupid, but just as an EXAMPLE, I know minecraft isn't an RPG) It would give the players something to work for in single player, because really, it could get very boring as soon as you build the amazing structure that you've been planning for months. Possibly just some achievements even.
New Vehicles. I haven't really thought this one through either, but I could see it happening. There's a mod that allows you to build planes, and fly them, and it would be cool to have that type of thing in the game. I'm not saying to add cars or trucks, but maybe planes could be added, or a train that runs on coal, or even adding horses into the game and making saddles an object that you can actually make, because I've put tons of hours into minecraft and never found a dungeon, so only having saddles in there is annoying.
Tribes/Natives. I think it would be fitting for minecraft. You run into a tribe of maybe somewhere between 10-40 enemies, and you can either run in like an idiot and die, or strategically take down everyone in the town over a week or two (of in-game time.) They won't chase you all the way home, but definately passed thier village a ways. Once you clear the town out, you could search the place for treasures and other valuables and use the village as a place for you to use as well. These people won't spawn, they will only live in their villages, and once you wipe them out then they're gone (for that specific village), if your using the village, they won't spawn on you and kill you. The villages can be randomly found throughout the game in different places. (They don't have to specifically be natives/humans; just the idea is what I'm really getting at.)
New weapons. Spears could work, or maybe some other type of weapon that ISN'T a gun. The natives could be armed with spears and bows, and you could pick up the spears and use them (as well as craft them.) They could stack up, and be picked up if you miss, just like arrows. Possibly made like:
[] []
[] [] [] []
New Plants/Trees. I think some new plants besides sugarcane and wheat could be added.. They don't have to be things that need to be made (Like how wheat is made into bread, sugarcane into sugar) But it could just be crops like tomatoes or other vegetables that CAN be added into other foods, but also can be eaten raw to heal health. New Trees could also be added, like apple trees, coconut trees, banana trees, etc. You could get fruits by just hitting them off of the tree and picking them up, and if they're chopped down only 0-3/10 of the saplings dropped will be the fruit tree saplings.
Animal Farms? It should be made possible to make a new tool (maybe rope or a whip? I'm not much of a herder...)that can herd animals into a pen or farm. And there could be a chance that the animal is pregnant, which would then spawn a new animal over a period of time, you'd be able to feed the animals wheat or other foods, and if they animals are 'healthy' (As in fed well) then once you kill them they will drop more of the item that they drop. (Healthy cows could drop 3-6 leather, Healthy pigs drop more meat, etc)
Maybe whips could be made as:
[] [] [Leather]
[] [Leather] [] [] []
or Rope as:

A new game mode. Basically, there's a large wall between two teams and one team could be defending and one team could be attacking (or possibly a different way, I'll explain in a second.) And each side is supplied with a certain amount of things; food, TNT, weapons, armor, etc. And everyone picks up what is needed. Then the game starts and the people attacking have to break through the wall and do one of two things (not sure which one, maybe both, I'm kind of improvising everything I'm saying here, so sorry if all this ends up choppy) they could either kill off the enemy team or reach a certain fortress and 'take down' the defenders by breaching the building. This would most likely be the quicker way, because there would probably be a time limit so the defenders can actually win.
The other way would be basically the same, except no attackers or defenders, just first team to get wiped out loses. (I know Minecraft isn't an FPS but it might have some of the structure of FPS game modes, but done differently.)
EDIT: This game could also possibly be played offline with NPCs, I don't know how well this would work with NPCs but why not.
Hanging Ladders. Simple idea, make ladders that can hang down rather than having to be placed on a wall. I'd like this for the fact that i want my floating island I made to look more natural, rather than looking like its got a big pillar holding it up; It might just be a 'looks' change.
Creating Your Own "Minecraftian Story." I'm not sure if it would really work... but I (personally) always enjoy games with an editor, I spent hours in Skate 3 building levels, I spent hours in Halo Reach building levels; being able to create and SHARE is a good thing. I know you can create cool bases and take videos and post them on youtube, but I'm not talking about just levels.
THIS IS NOT CLASSIC.
I think there should be an editor mode where you can basically build your own game using minecraft. Not a lot of technical stuff would be in it, although an 'advanced' button could be implemented. Possibly be able to create a level (I'm not too sure on editing it all as 'almighty god' where you can change the landscape and everything) I'm not really sure how the building would work out; either have it all be handmade or have just infinite blocks (as the creator.) There could be pre-loaded NPC textures, and you could edit what they say, what they do, what their names are. Basically like I said, create your own game with Minecraft. If want to have your guy spawn, talk to a guy and he says "Build whatever you want, survive for 40 nights and return to me." go for it. And once you finish the level it will be playable by you (NOTE: this will not be part of your survival game mode, I'd assume it'd be a whole new game mode.) and if you want, you could upload it and have the world play your level. (NOTE ALSO: You would only be able to play as 'creator' on your level unless there was a way to get special permissions from another person so you can help them with thier level or something along those lines)
My 2 biggest concerns with this concept:
Stupid People. I fear that there will be too many people who just make a giant penis and have an NPC say 'you suck.' That would kind of kill the whole point of the uploads, because too many people would kind of just give up on trying to download those levels.
Scripting. I'd imagine that creating your own game would require some sort of knowledge with scripting of some sort.
Troubleshooting:
For the stupid people, maybe people could specifically avoid those because a possible new forum could be added for those levels. So if someone goes on the forums and sees a topic like "Check Out My Level!" and then see what its called, they could look it up in the uploads and download that specific one, to avoid the annoyances.
For the scripting, I really just think that some official tutorials could come out with that. If anyones ever heard of Engine001, I'd imagine it would be about like that, which is actually really easy to learn (It's basically this: Pick an event, e.g. 'talked to' then you can say that it triggers the person to give you something... stuff like that.) . And like I said, it would be another game mode, so it's not like you MUST play it, if you can't figure out how to do it, then just don't; sorry but there's really no use in playing something you can't understand. Addition by another person:
Kitchens/Cooking. I think it would work to add possibly an oven/stove along with pots and pans and new foods. I mean, sure you can cook ham, and sure you can combine soup and make bread; but what if you could have more variety of foods (such as new vegetables, or fruits) and when you click on the oven it will look like a furnace but instead of one block it will have 9 (maybe less) so if you right click the oven it would come up:
[] [] []
[] [] []
[] [] []
[]
and if you click the stove top there will be:
[] [] []
[] [] []
[] [] []
[Pot or Pan]
[]
And you can power it with wood or coal. It's BASICALLY an enhanced furncace; but I'm also suggesting that there be new foods and recipes, so this will actually be useful. It would only work with foods, you can't smelt iron on your stove top...
For example; say they added 'salt' as something you can find in the ground, and when mined it can be used in food (I'm not that stupid, I know you can't just mine salt and eat it with your food, but it's an example) Then they also added new vegetables like onions, peppers, corn, etc. You could combine them all in the oven or on the stove to make a meal or possibly some food like 'salted pepper steak.' It could give more variety to the foods, and give cooking more of a 'cooking feel' rather than throwing your ham in the coal covered furnace and pulling it out and eating it.
I pwnt my pants long ago when I was a baby, but did you ever use search? It is acting up right now, but you could of waited until it was fixed or asked someone. My pwntpants are now in the museum, steeln ur hist or ree.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I am just a guy looking for good suggestions that are original, creative, and match the theme of Mine-craft. I have some mob ideas that I need help forming which is a community project.

well 1) search has been messed up since last week and 2) i like to post my own threads, these ideas may have been suggested before but they're not so common that it's just annoying to see (cough cars and guns cough) and also i just like the feel of seeing what people think of my ideas, rather than putting my opinion in on someone elses thread of similar ideas
