I was walking to the store, and brainstorming about things I would like to see in minecraft.
I came up with three things, these have probably been done before, but seeing as this is my first true visit to the Suggestions forum, I have not seen to much.
So without further ado, here is three things I would like to see. That number may rise as I come up with more things.
CementA use for gravel!
-->
Cement is the first thing, perhaps a more attractive version of gravel that does not abide by the laws of sand and gravel (Otherwise known as "Physics")
A sloped block, with a simple shingle design on it. Stylish and useful. I was thinking this perhaps could use the mesh from the "Slope" mod, or at least I think I saw something like that a while ago.
Some people have said that "Sloped" blocks do not belong in Minecraft, while I beg to differ, I will leave this here, but striked out.
SatchelFire Proof Ziplock Bag
( = Leather)
This is something I have heard before, But I can not remember where I heard it.
The "Satchel" will protect a total of 4 inventory slots, these will function as normal slots, except when you do something really stupid and fall into lava, the satchel bag will be left on the next available block outside of the lava allowing you to go and recover the satchel, witch will be able to be picked up like an item, then "Used", when "Used" it will recover the said items into your inventory, but the bag will be lost.
I am pretty sure that I have seen a "Slope Mod" or a recommendation, at least, somewhere here. So do not start bitching at me because I am not the first person to think it up. Got to admit it would be handy, it would behave exactly the same as the stairs, witch is essentially a sloped block except with the appearance of a staircase.
Yeah I like all of these ideas except the satchel should not give you extra space. It should just protect 4 spaces.
I see where you are coming from with that, but it makes more sense for a bag that is separate from your normal backpack to add a few extra spaces. I will think about it though, for sure.
Although to prevent abuse of satchels, you should only be able to carry one with you, and satchels shouldn't be capable of being held inside other satchels.

My thoughts exactly, I might edit the original post to contain what you said here.

1st idea Cement : Yep someone have asked notch about it I think it was on twitter and said it was a good idea! So it will maybe get added
2: hmm are the shingles going to be like orange-red kinda or black? I would like the orange-red that would seem so nice on a brick building! I like this, here -
3: Satchel ehmm yea I think this have been suggested before, but anyways I think it is a cool idea- backpack that gives extra room + protects the things you care about the most ( ) !
1: Really? I thought I was being creative, oh well. Good to hear it might happen!
2: I am not sure, I was gearing towards black, as it is more standard. But now that you mention it, orange-red does sound like a good idea.
3: Yeah, I have heard of the "Satchel" idea before, but most of them where just a few extra spaces, I don't remember seeing anything about it being anti-lava.
1) Maybe, but I think Notch would rather have a alternative that seems like it would be naturally formed. (I doubt cement is a naturally occuring thing)
2) Triangle does not = square. minecraft = square. shingles = triangle. shingles do not = minecraft. I think that it works fine if we just use stairs/steps for shingles.
3) No. We dont need more inventory space, especially if it magicly jumped out of lava onto the nearest block when you fall into said lava. I personally use storage minecarts if I want more inventoty.
I like how funny this is (fire proof ziplock bag). I would like to say that we should never have triangular dimensions (water and lava (or magma) should be changed eventually, but this is for now the only exception). The shingles idea could be railroad tracks. I approve of the cement idea because gravel is admittedly very ugly and should be changed in appearance a little, but the cement idea sounds way better than a retexture. I also do like fire proof ideas, but lets say fire resistant. All items have a health bar (blocks are effected by this) like tools, but are effected differently by certain elements like lava or magma. A tools' determination on how long it will take till it burns completely depends on how much it was used and what it is made of. Clearly this is a kind of "ify" thing to consider because it is stupid, but it may help a player just a little when trying to retrieve their lost possessions. Some items will go away instantly still and it would be a hard task to get the lost items any way because they are in lava or magma which is dangerous and would make a player probably think the same way as they would when the items instantly disappeared. I think it could be useful, but items that could withstand intense conditions really isn't needed.

I am just a guy looking for good suggestions that are original, creative, and match the theme of Mine-craft. I have some mob ideas that I need help forming which is a community project.

I understand what people are saying about the shingle idea, I was mainly basing it on the idea of the "Slopes" that people have proposed.
The way I look at it, mining for a few hours then falling into lava, is completely devastating if you still have your ores on you. It is a bit ridiculous, having the satchel go onto the nearest non lava block, but it works and could save those precious ores or other valuables you might have while mining from the certain doom of the lava.

1)Well the reason I picked Cement is because I think we really need a use for Gravel, so crafting it into a useful resource is a great thing.
2)I see what you mean, but as I said in the above post, I was basing this off of the "Slopes" mod or whatever that was, I can not remember if it is a mod or just a proposal in the suggestions forum, or idk.
3)I might be changing the op a bit to incorporate more of a slot protection style over a more space style.
I am pretty sure that I have seen a "Slope Mod" or a recommendation, at least, somewhere here. So do not start bitching at me because I am not the first person to think it up.
Didn't claim you were, I'm claiming you and whoever made that mod miss the point entirely when it comes to minecraft and really just want to edit levels in little big planet 2 where they already have all your slopes and curves and spheres.
Its weird that I have to literally BEG for some feedback on such a populated forum, but seriously, As I said I modified the initial post so I am hoping I can get some feedback on the new updates, including a complete overhaul of the Satchel.

To make it a bit harder.
Got a point, I will revise the post
You're in the wrong place. This is more along the lines of what you're looking for.

I have updated the initial post, rewrote how the satchel performs and striked out the shingles.
