I'm finding the multiplayer servers are really difficult, there's all the IP and networking stuff which I struggle to understand. Will servers be simplified in the full game so that anyone can do it?
Perhaps a server list, and please, in game servers with a simple connection process, instead of a separate application.
Also maybe a direct local network connect so that you can reduce lag if playing with someone in the same house.
I know it probably seems stupid and I should just learn the networking stuff, but to put it in perspective, a friend came over the other day (we're both new to minecraft) and we tried to get a multiplayer game going, I looked up some tutorials but still I was unsuccessful and we ended up just both playing single player.
I think that in minecraft (or any game for that matter), multiplayer should be a simple process where anyone can click multiplayer, choose a server or create a new one in game (public or private) and start playing with friends.
So Notch, I highly recomend that the minecraft servers get simplified for the full game.
You imagined it just like me when i was just about to make a post just like this one.I see a day when clicking minecraft multiplayer will take you to a screen with all the games servers that are running. Each seperated with things such as private , building rights you know. And creating a server will be as easy as clicking somthing and typing in the name.

Get the server, get Hamachi, every body wins.
