Suggestion: Adding Solar Panels/Generators and Light Bulbs to the game.
Solar Panels + Light Bulbs - During the time while the sun is high up in the sky, the solar panels gather electricity to the Generator. (The solar panel will not work without a generator. (in reality it will, but is minecraft a reality?))
Solar Panel energy gather speed: Per solar block 1% every real life minute (THEY ARE STACKABLE SIDE-TO-SIDE)
Solar Panel energy gather speed WHILE COVERED BY SNOW, ETC.: 1% every 5 minutes
To destroy, can use fists and it takes 3 seconds. (Whole solar panel block)
ALL Requirements:
Solar Panel: 8 Clay, 1 Solar plate (See figure 1)
Solar Plate: 4 Obsidian (See Figure 2)
Light Bulb: 8 Glass, 1 Redstone (See Figure 3)
Generator: 4 Cobblestone, 1 Obsidian (See Figure 4)
(for electricity transfer, redstone is needed) (See Figure 5/6)
Figure 1 (1 indicates CLAY, 2 indicates SOLAR PLATE
Figure 5/6 (OUTSIDE OF HOUSE Red line indicates REDSTONE and its transfer in energy
(SIDE NOTE: Might need to have a hole in the house) INSIDE OF HOUSE Red indicates REDSTONE's energy transfer
Problems that might be faced:
1. Solar Energy gotten from Torch Light
WHAT CAN BE DONE TO FIX THAT PROBLEM
If it doesn't seem obvious, make the torch give 1% every 10 life minutes or make sure only sunlight gives energy to the Solar Panel (much more difficult, easier to stay with the torch giving a lot less energy)
Interesting idea, and although you are correct and this is suggested already, this is an interesting take on it.

Thanks and I did say that this was an Add-on and replacement for other solar panel ideas. Tried to make it my own version. My brother owns a solar panel company so he can tell me how they work and such, but it's hard to figure out new materials since it's so modern. I tried to make it as mine-crafty as possible.

lol no thanks, everything I use is powered by Green products that I burn in a furnace, strictly to spite the hippies. I am following Solar technology so when it get's cheaper I'll get some and burn that as well. Always to spite the hippies.

perhaps less obsidian because its not hard to get with inedit but there is those hard-core minecrafters who dont want to "cheat"
perhaps instead like glass with redstone?
like so:
Gun Powder = redstone
see the redstone is the "power absorbers" the glass is the glass and the iron is the conector so you can connect the power to somthing
also I hope you dont mind me redirecting your thread with my ideas :3
also there would be..
Wires! = white wool or whatever color wool it wont matter = redstone
these wires could be placed on walls and can go though half-block spaces
allowing you to tranverse electricity though small spaces and alot more efishently then bare redstone
Battery
this one im having trouble thinking of the battery juice or acid or whatever you want to call it
im thinking lava as a substitute for battery acid? = Stone (not cobblestone STONE)
this would store power it woudl have like a 4 peice bar on the side as it fills up it adds a bar it can go for a whole minecraft night fullycharged
Lights
going to need somethign to power right?
so lights!
exactly as it is shown here is the blueprints
the iron is the contacts the glass is glass (duh :tongue.gif:) and the gunpowder is like longlasting fuse or somthing that makes light
Wind Turbines!
lets face it wind is alot better power source then solar cause wind lows at night too!
made like so
[] []
[] []
this will of course need a pole to run off of
[] []
[] []
[] [] = Fan
this gives it 3 blocks hight
when placed it will constantly make power
(need some sort of logical alteration?)
and you could use water turbines instead
but you need a generator to do that
[] []
[] [] = redstone
the middle shaft spins making electricity the water wheel has to be in moving water to work
thats all I can think of for now il probably make a picture in 5 minutes and put it in
hope I didnt spam yoru thread too much

I tried adding as many detail as possible. (again, this is to replace and/or add to the previous topic about solar panels)
