A large tree growing from a field of magma blocks that randomly bears and drops magma cubes as 'fruit'.
Occurence: as villages in plains (counting all of the nether as plains).
Appearence: a (roughly) 6-8 block radius plate (1 thick) of magma blocks, from the (rough) center of which grows a treelike stucture also composed of magma blocks.
Function: at intervals 'grows' and drops Magma Cubes as 'fruit': These then behave as normal Magma Cubes.
Mechanincs:
Structure generates using the "large oak tree" algorithm (Although greater connectivity between branhes would be nice.), but without leaves and constrained to be 8+ blocks tall.
Every 200 to 799 ticks (10 to 39.95 seconds) — while the player is within 32 blocks Euclidian of the 'trunk' — the 'tree' will attempt to spawn 4 Magma Cubes at randomly chosen points within the canopy area (the area where the leaves would be). [Essentially spawner mechanics with a double radius.]
(Doubling / trebling the time frame or halving / quartering the number of spawns might be needed to reduce 'farmablity')

WARNING: I have an extemely "grindy" playstyle; YMMV — if this doesn't seem fun to you, mine what you can from it & bin the rest.
Ehh... I like the idea of a large tree in a field of magma blocks as a new Nether structure, but I'm not sold on the idea of it dropping magma cubes. I feel like this idea calls for a new item altogether--and I like the idea of there being a 'fruit' for the Nether.
They should maybe drop a cursed apple. It is black and gives the wither effect when eaten. These can then be used to brew potions of decay which provide the wither effect like in bedrock edition. Glowstone and redstone could be added to increase the duration or potency.
I love little things like this. They make the world feel like a real, thriving ecosystem. My one suggestion is instead of magma blocks, they be a cooled variant similar to the darker texture of a magma cube.
