I dislike how you can't see fruit growing on the leaves of trees. Leaves that bare fruit should have said fruit be visible.
My Dragons need your clicks to survive. So, click them, will ya?
Is this intended to be purely cosmetic (i.e. both fruit & leaf blocks would have the standard chances to drop either fruit or saplings)?
If so, it would seem a texture pack could provide this (as of 1.13 when each tree type is scheduled to get its own block: currently; oak, spruce, birch and jungle all use minecraft:leaves).
If the differemce is intended to be functional (i.e. one could preferentially punch the apples off an oak tree), No Support.
IMO removing the random nature of the drops would make apple harvesting too easy.
WARNING: I have an extemely "grindy" playstyle; YMMV — if this doesn't seem fun to you, mine what you can from it & bin the rest.
I think it kinda takes away the fun of breaking leaves for apples. As ScotMiser said, it would also be too easy to harvest apples, the chances of apples dropping are already common.
