Does every animal drop it?
How often does it drop?
Are you saying it acts the same way as string does now? If so, it shouldn't be crafted into wool blocks.

I like how string works now. That would mean I wouldn't get tons of string from killing cows, pigs and sheep, and not even bother looking in a dungeon or fighting a spider to get string, thus making Spiders a pointless mob.
