I've searched for backpack, back pack, rucksack, and ruck sack and had no results.
My idea is simply a recipe for a backpack, which can be equipped on the body armor slot of the player. No other major changes would be made to the game, such as having more equip slots. This idea is simply to add ONE ITEM which can change a lot. The player would not be able to wear body armor and a backpack at the same time.
The backpack would provide perhaps another full inventory or a limited amount of extra spaces (just like a portable storage chest) when equipped. When the backpack is then unequipped, its contents would be emptied as if you broke a storage chest. Just like all other armor, the backpack would get damaged, and eventually break, spilling its contents onto the ground if filled.
The recipe would consist of 4 pieces of string for the straps, and 4 leather for the bag.
Let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions, and if you like it or not.
Great idea!
But i think if it were to wear-out or something it wouldn't be for a long time because i could see that as being a huge pain. I support this.

I was thinking it could last as long as diamond armor, perhaps even long. And yeah, that would be a huge pain X] I'm going to work on some art and a sig =D
Yes! I have been thinking about stuf like this, I think it sould add one inventory row in your inventory, because it is such a pain when you are mining and then, all of a sudden you can't pick up that peice of cobblestone, I hate that.
But then you pop on your backpack and boom, you have more room than the rest of that pickaxe can fill. I also think that if you die the things in the backpack don't ever despawn but sit in a cake like not-a-full-block block. it could be crafted like this: =leather =chest
this makes a good trade off for the amount of convenience it gives you
Edit: your the Aether guy, I am typing in the presence of greatness!
Please note that the title of several of these topics include the word "backpack".
I tried searching multiple times because I was surprised myself. I don't know why I wouldn't get results. And yes, I did check my spelling. Of course when I try it now, backpack and rucksack give me results. I tried my best, sorry.
But still, I would simply want the backpack as an addition, and this is a single suggestion, not a major change to the game.
Yes! What if though a new slot was added to the armor inventory, and different levels of backpacks were introduced with increasing sizes just like the different levels of armor. yes, it would extremely complex but I think it would add a new level to the game that would be good.

That is a good idea, check out some threads listed above. This one would be equipped in the armor slot though, because it needs less changes to the game, and the player has to sacrifice some protection. And I've thought about different level backpacks, but I think one would be the best because it seems more realistic, like a storage chest.
