I am not the first to suggest this nor am I the last but since Mojang is making a water-related update they should add Prismarine arrows, arrows that unlike regular arrows are not limited underwater and will go just as far and high underwater as regular arrows go on dry land. Crafting recipe: the same as regular arrows but the flint is replaced by a prismarine shard. Thanks for reading!
Enchantments already cover how arrows can behave. Not much sense in having enchantments and arrow types since effects can stack.

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.
We already have arrow types. I.E. Spectral arrows and tipped arrows.
I should have used some different wording. What if you wanted to fire an arrow tipped with poison and wanted the arrow to easily zoom through water? There'd be need to be a brand new line of item ID's just for prismarine tipped arrows, when one enchantment could cover up the whole thing way easier.

In my honest opinion, I think that this idea has potential. It could just use a few changes, however. Maybe the arrows don't go quite as far underwater, but they still travel a longer distance than before. Also, maybe give them some sort of special damage type, like it can pierce enemies or do damage over time. But overall, mostly supported.

I feel like this would make tridents much less useful

Same thing. I think that the main reason Mojang adding trident is that it's able to rip through the water.
So yeah, prismarine arrows would be pretty useless while having a trident.

What is it? It's magic...
Good idea, but as everybody said there is a trident weapon coming, so you should think about the differences between the trident and your idea.
