I think it could be useful on some servers to add a "grave" feature, in order to commemorate the death of a player, for a short time like in PvP games, or forever like in solo games or in RP servers.
-Firstly, you will be able to craft a "grave block" wich is like a sign, but in stone (and with no polethx wolftopia).
-Secondly, a feature will automaticly creates a tombstone when a player dies. Some automatic text could be displayed (for example the name of the dead, the name of his killer, the way he died, the score he had when he died... the admin will select what they need)
The "auto-grave" despawn time will also be set up by the admins (the grave can stay forever if they want)

What do you think ?
Sounds a bit more on the mod side than vanilla, but yeah it's okay.
Would this be a gamerule? If so, I think it should 1. Be accessible even with cheats off, and 2. Be disabled by default.
I think the word you are looking for is "pole." You're talking about the little stand the sign is on top of when you place it, right?
Check out my suggestions! Here is one of them:
You are right, it should not bother players who did not want it.
That's it thank you !
