I have my house as a cave right now and I abhor that I can hear the animals above ground while in my cave. I just want some peace and quiet in my house. Is it possible for notch to stop the sound from going through many layers of rock and dirt? It's too unrealistic and it's annoying sometimes, especially when you hear a monster that's above ground but turn around really fast to defend yourself.
I think instead of completely cutting off the noises, blocks should merely lower the volume of an outside noise. Also, it would be good if certain materials blocked more sound than others. Another thing that might be interesting is that some blocks could reflect sound more than others (Example: a cave made of stone would be echoier than a wool castle).

WOAH, WAIT. Our eyes take pictures? Please tell me I can recover these pictures from another person.
You have to stick a thumb drive up their nose, drag and drop the pictures onto it, and then load them through your ear.

No. Lag reasons. Sound dithering is not an APU control in this case. It is highly CPU intensive. Also, reasons above; Indicates mob threat and waterfalls in caves.
This.
