With the introduction of Beta earlier last year, Notch implemented wool dyes. Now that we have multiple colors of dyes for wool, don't you think other blocks should be able to be colored to?
Of course you do! Well, first of all, you can't "dye" stone or bricks. You'd have to paint them. By mixing any color of dye with a bucket of water, you'd receive a Paint Bucket. You can use this Paint Bucket on certain blocks by right clicking. A Paint Bucket of any color can be used as many as 64 times before it runs out. When it runs out, you keep the empty Iron Bucket.
Because it can be used 64 times, you can paint an entire stack of material by placing the Paint Bucket and desired material in a crafting table. The entire stack will be painted that color, and you will receive an empty Iron Bucket.
Only certain blocks can be painted. These include:
Stone
Cobblestone
Wood
Logs
Slabs
Bricks
Mossy Cobblestone
Netherack
Soul Sand
Glowstone
Glass
Bookshelves
Obsidian
Sand
Gravel
Ore Blocks (The ones crafted, not mined.)
Wool (Though, inefficient.)

They will look up at me, and yell "Save Us!". Then, I will look unto them and whisper "No."
