~~Apperently this has been mentioned thousands and thousands of times, feel free to disregard this~~
Ill leave it here, though, In case someone still finds it intersting
Think about it.
This could solve minor requests by the public, along with add a new sort of relm (such as the nether) to the game. the difference being its much more calming and you dont have to build a portal to get there.
First of all, this would allow for a higher build limit. this is a common complaint, with people constantly begging to be able to build higer, so even the sky is no longer the limit.
Also, the addition of space above the main world would allow for new mobs to make an apperence, perhaps on pre-generated asteroids?
Speaking of which, these asteroids could be made out out 'space-blocks', like the special blocks from the nether. they would have special properties as well. maybe a block with the durability of obsidan and the rareness of diamond that draws gravity affected peices (sand, gravel, water, lava, players) towards it from all directions (within a radius, of course), to create mini planets. i can see how this might be too complex of an idea though, so i would like thoughts on other possibilitys as well.
I think the best way to imagine moving around in space is trying to move around under water, except with much lower gravity moving downwards (but still some) and much less pushing upwards when jumping. In addition, you would have the same amount of time underwater as you do in space to build. This would require the ability to make simple space helmets (only way i could see to make being in space for extened amounts of time at least somewhat realistic). perhaps crafting would go something like this?
Anyways, id love to hear some of your ideas, critisisms, and otherwise useful comments. Thank you.
