Here is the idea; it’s crafted by having a clock surrounded with Wood-planks blocks in the Crafting-table.
When placed, it shows the time in all vertical sides (either that or it needs to be direction placed sensitive like stairs), but it has one more function other than telling the time:
It can also work as a time delay, by right clicking the block you can set it’s timer, and when it receives an electrical signal it will wait for that long a time period before it sends its own.
This would make it possible to create; Time delayed traps Grandfather clocks that tells you when you been down in the mines for 10 mins (by giving a signal to a Note-block) so you know when it’s day after a night in the mine. Or when the furnaces is done and it’s time for you to pick up what’s been made. Keeping doors open for a period of time and more

A grandfather clock would be awesome, but I'd prefer it to be 2 blocks tall. That would just seem more appropriate, I suppose.
It would be 2 blocks tall, as I said in original post.
But if it’s one block, then you can put it other places, like making a clock tower.
And you put the clock on top of a tune block to get sound; you get your two block grandfather clock.

Perhaps if you connected it to a note block it would play a noise to alert you to it becoming night soon, at midday and at sunrise.
If you can set a timer, then you just make sure it will send a signal at the appropriate intervals to coincide with sunset and sunrise and so on.
Also, if you can set the time, you can use it for other stuff as well.

Its basically a 1 wide,1 long,2 tall grandfather clock. Shows the time of the day just like a clock would.
