yeah sharks, they can appear randomly on the deep sea or maybe closer of a ocean monument (also they could be like slimes spawning on a specific chunk), they can attack when you're hurted or when they're closer of you, the shark can boost his movement whit (Speed I effect) also theres a probability of 5% for drop a Potion of Speed or a Strength potion whit a 2% of probability
I've always hated the idea of sharks being a hostile mob.
Not to sound like some Sea World protester, but sharks are real animals, not a fake monster. They aren't inheritably evil like zombies, skeletons, and creepers. I know its just a game, but this has always bothered me. I'd suggest sharks be neutral mobs that can get angry if you annoy them, like polar bears.
Also, could you please add more detail (health, damage, spawnrate, etc.)?

PS: oh btw I don't think we should have sharks because then they would eat me (see avatar).

yes maybe they can have this stats:
Health: 20 points (like a zombie)
and 2,5 points of armor
Damage: 4,5 damage
And a spawnrate of 15% over all the sea
also like real sharks when you're on the surface of a sea the shark can jump out of the water and attack you it would be really troll when you're spending hours exploring the sea in a boat and it comes a shark and eventually destroys your boat lol
My only problem with sharks is that they would be really hard to deal with early game. So my opinion is a boat should be able to put run a shark and they should only hunt you if you are injured or if you provoke them. This is because sharks in real life are attracted to blood.
Perhaps sharks could drop their fins, but that would be contaversal as shark finning is illegal in most places. So maybe just fish.
Forget taming the shark, I say make it like riding a pig. Put meat or fish on a stick and a saddle on the shark. When you attack something, the shark finishes it off, but if you are hurt the shark will quickly turn on you.

Shark skin would be used for a new set of armour designed for use underwater, each piece would slightly increase the user's swim speed and the quality of the armour would be slightly better than that of leather.
Shark teeth would act as the heads of a new type of arrow with the recipe requiring 1 tooth and 1 shaft/feather per arrow made. These arrows would have a small chance to negate 50% of the enemy's armour value which means it would ignore more against players with diamond armour than it would iron/gold/leather/chain. These would primarily be PVP arrows with some bossing use.
Shark fins would be used for shark fin soup, a new food item that would give the player a short duration damage buff along the lines of max strength potions except with a shorter duration. Also designed for PVP as it saves time chugging a potion and eating mid fight by having a 2 in 1 at the cost of rarity and the lower duration.

I like it! Although the potions dropping doesn't really make too much sense.
