My step-brother had the best idea for minecraft (which is weird because almost all his ideas are based off of mods)
As you can tell by the title, it's a use for slimeballs. Get ready for a terrible noob thing:
Yo I'm Vince here with the new slimeballs!
SSSSSSSSSSSSssssssssssssssssss Boom! Aw shucks, a creeper blew a hole in your nice shiny new armor, huh? Don't you just hate it when that happens? Doesn't fix, you don't want holes in your armor. Holes in your armor makes holes in you and you don't want holes in your food.
Your gonna love my balls.
So, grab a couple of slimeballs, put them a crafting bench with your creeper pocketed armor. Wow, look at this!
Slime, grime, lime, bikini.
BAM! Virtually (actually only a little) repaired underneath. No more holes in your armor, and that's good for you because now them zombies ain't gonna put the holes in you.
this made me laugh, simply because no one talks like that in my area or any area next to it.
not to alienate you or anything.
hehe anyway good job,
but a slimeball... is slime, not putty.
i'm not sure how a slimeball would be able to repair a metal armour.
and if you think about it, if you continued to repair your armor, wouldn't the armor just be a coat of slime? :smile.gif:
just thinking two steps ahead.
A bit higher spawn rate would be nice, I've never really seen them. But yeah, since they're rare and useless I think this is a good idea and allows hard work to pay off with a good reward. Plus it adds to the originality of Minecraft.
But yeah, after a while it should stop working when your armor is more slime then metal. Maybe not if slime hardened is just as strong as metal?
this is a great idea (but it does need changes). And i agree, we need a higher spawn rate of slimes. I found them ONCE, and that was on peaceful (i forgot to change it back to hard >.>) I started mining and those cute little tiny slimes pets jumped in my way (Suicide!!!)
All right, my personal input on this. when you use a tool, or take damage from armor, a health bar appears. To stop people from overusing slime, the slime bar would heal from the right side, leftward. The smiles would stop healing at 50% slime, and would drain different colored bars, or something. Just assisting the brainstorm.
Also, another idea. Shame nobody else has come across it, from what I've seen. Throwing a Slimeball will cause the block it lands on to become sticky, until a mob (or a stupid person) Steps on it. It either slows them for a time, or pitfalls them until a struggle frees them.. Either way, one use, about the size of a pressure plate. Most likely a SPLAT design.

Boom, I approve this idea ^--^

Seriously? Lol.
OT: This would be good, especially considering the fairly low spawn rate of slimes.
But yeah, after a while it should stop working when your armor is more slime then metal. Maybe not if slime hardened is just as strong as metal?
I personally suggest taking an armor (iron or higher) then in a workbench
surround it with slimeballs and bam, slightly explosive proof armor

Yes I have no profile picture.
Yes that is a bad idea.
