I think i would be pretty cool to have non-infinite worlds. Were the worlds were spheres instead of planes. this would allow for full world creating in online servers, or for rp servers were one could setup the whollle world.
I don't like this idea. I like the feeling of my worlds not having limits. Regardless, Notch would probably have to reprogram the whole game to do this.
The worlds minecraft makes aren't actually infinite, but it's close enough. For limiting servers, there are mods around that set limits on how far players can explore. (I forget where I saw that but I know it's around)
"When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"

I would want round world if possible, but if its to much to ask for idc.
It is possible to make it topologically spherical, as in if you go too far west you end up in the far east, and if you go too far north you end up 180 degrees away going south (but still on the north side), but it'd be horribly complicated to code.

I often get lost, even with a compass.
