Underground Worlds (stylized as "Underground") is a special world type, similar to Amplified. What it does is create a fully underground world that provides the resources needed to survive. Underground would create a whole new survival experience for players, without the one only universal "seed" that an underground survival custom map has.
Layers
Layers (-1)-: Void
Layer 0: Bedrock
Layers 1-5: Fragmented Bedrock
Layers 6-156: Stone (Where everything generates)
Layers 157-162: Fragmented Bedrock
Layers 163+: Void
Light
Since sunlight does not function in Underground, a "fog of light" is used, comparable to the Nether's natural light. From dawn to dusk, the natural light level is 8, just enough to stop hostile mobs from spawning. During nighttime, the light level goes to 7, then 4, then back again to 7. During the day, placed dirt turns to grass. Light is tinted blue during nighttime.
Caves & Ores
To prevent a feeling of constant claustrophobia, all caves are twice as big (as in dimensions): Twice as tall, wide, and deep. Dirt is twice as common (reasons below).
Ores generate on all levels, but ores that generate above its normal range that it has in a regular world are twice as rare.
Starting Spawn
The player will first spawn on a 5 x 5 stone brick platform between y=50 and y=75, in a hollowed space, at most 50 blocks away from a woodland biome.
Weather
(Added April 29 9:46 PM) When raining, you can hear raindrops near the bedrock ceiling. There is also a slight increase in fog.
Biomes
Similar to a popular suggestion on here, biomes now affect caves directly. Another change to biomes in Underground is that they can at maximum inhibit 25 chunks at a time (6400 blocks) on the xand z axes, so first spawning in a jungle won't get you lost instantly. Here's how caves will now generate in Underground:
Forest
Regular caves, but with more dirt on the ground and trees. Singular logs will generate with clusters of leaves surrounding them.
Desert
Regular caves, but with sandstone as an alternate stone (Alternate stones refer to stones like andesite and granite). Sand frequently covers the ground, and desert plants spawn, too. Desert wells don't spawn, but desert temples do (the inside is empty, and only the entrance can remain unobstructed. The rest of the temple is mostly covered in stone). Villages will be covered later.
Plains
Regular caves, but all surface dirt is replaced by grass topped with flora.
Ocean & Deep Ocean
Regular caves, but ocean monuments spawn in giant water-filled hollow spaces. Prismarine is a rare alternate stone.
Jungle
Caves are twice as tall (as the caves in Underground- they would be four times as tall in a regular world!) to accomodate jungle trees. The walls are mostly covered in vines, and mossy cobblestone is an alternate stone.
Taiga
The ground is entirely covered in snow, and spruce trees are common. Snow and ice act as alternate stones. Natural water doesn't spawn- a special ice replaces it, called layered ice.
Layered ice is like ice mixed with snow layers- it spawns in thin layers, but with the amount of layers depending on the size of the water that it replaces. Layered ice does not give a water source when broken, but rather a blip of water, depending on how much layered ice was broken. A water source block would be replaced by regular ice, but the thinnest possible layer of water would be replaced by one layer of layered ice.
Lava sources are replaced by obisidian- flowing lava won't appear or be replaced by a layered form of obisidian.
Ice Spikes
Like the taiga, but ice spikes replace the trees. Packed ice is also an alternate stone.
Extreme Hills
Completely alike with normal extreme hills caves.
Mesa
Stained clay layers replace the stone, but now stone acts as a very common alternate stone, along with red sand and red sandstone. Desert plants spawn.
Roofed Forest
Dark oak trees aren't too common, but dark oak leaves cover a majority of the ceiling.
Animals can spawn on grass and dirt (hence why dirt is as twice as common), but not on coarse dirt.
Villages
Villages generate in their usual biomes, but now have hollowed out spaces to spawn in. Oak chandeliers spawn on the ceiling (oak fence 3 blocks tall, oak fence on the bottom sides, torches on extensions). The villages spaces also have torches on the floor so no hostile mobs spawn. Any caves connecting to the village will have iron bar walls seperating the border area.
Strongholds
Strongholds spawn normally, with the exception of high altitude strongholds. High alt. strongholds spawn above normal stronghold level, but without end portals. All loot is twice as rare, so OP items aren't as readily available.
The Nether & End don't have Underground variants as of now. The Nether is plausible, but the End? Those dimensions should be touched on later, if the community overall likes this suggestion.
So what do you think about the Underground world type? Should biomes be changed? Light mechanics? Are there vital resources missing? Please comment on this below, and thanks for reading!
Console Battle is two games rolled into one: gambling (whether or not you get one of the OP weapons) and betting (which teammate won't turn on you, since teaming is pretty much a requirement to kill off another team)! Of course, it's not all chance; at its core, Battle is about triumphing and defeating other players... by kicking them out if they win to make yourself feel better.
Thanks! I will add "weather" to Underground, so during rain, render distance is shortened by fog and near the bedrock ceiling, rain will be heard.

not sucky suggestion threads I made: Console Minigame: Ram Attack! - New Arrows!(quality)I feel like the End and Nether shouldn't be messed with, but I really like this idea! Totally on board. Would there be any "weather" events?
