I have had an idea for porcelain and found another suggestion of porcelain, but the idea wasn't thought up to my liking.
Porcelain is heated clay, in it's purest form. In my suggestion, porcelain is a poor building material and is intended to serve mostly as a base of cosmetic items.
To create porcelain, you need clay and a sort of bleach (in this case, bonemeal).
[] [] []
[] [] ->
[] [>>-i>] [] = clay, [>>-i>] = bonemeal, =kaolin
When you mix these, you create kaolin. Kaolin will appear similar to a snowball and can be stored like a snow cube (it acts like clay).
Kaolin is what's used to craft different aesthetic items including a plate set, teapot, sink, bathtub, and toilet. They create other placable objects as well. Like handrails (imagine a towel rack in your bathroom, or the "****!" bar in your car), vases, and other items.
PLATE SET
[] []
[] []
where is kaolin will look like a white plate in inventory, but when placed, will look like two plates stacked with a bowl on top.
Plates can be placed on the wall and will appear as a single plate with a random design (in the same way paintings are placed out of a random assortment).
TEAPOT [] [] [] []
The teapot is also functionless, serving as mere decoration. Perhaps functionality can be added to where it can make tea from or .
SINK
[] [] []
The sink, with an iron or gold faucet will give a novelty sink. Right clicking on a sink will turn on a 2-frame repeating water animation and water sound from sink.
BATHTUB []
The bathtub will have iron or gold legs and faucet. Right-clicking on a bathtub will turn on a 2-frame shower repeating water animation and water sound from bathtub.
TOILET (I REALLY Don't want to add this as it'll become the butt of many jokes, but for completeness sake) [] []
[]
The toilet is another functionless piece that is there to make a place look complete. Outside of the ridicule behind the toilet and that they aren't necessarily fitting of the setting of minecraft; I have included in case someone thought that a bathroom looked incomplete without one.
Horizontal Bar
[] [] []
[] [] []
The horizontal bar is for people mostly like me, who want to create a touch of class in the various areas of the house, how better than by a nice porcelain hand-rail alone the walls?
Porcelain Vase [] []
[] []
The vase has ONE function, you can plant a flower on top of it. This flower will stay permanently.
There are other possible additional items as well.
ALL of the above cannot be placed and are non-functional until kilned. When they have been heated in a , they harden and can be placed.
Once placed, you are dealing with pottery (more or less), which are about as recoverable as glass.
Personal POSITIVE:
These are purely aesthetic additions. They are meant to enhance a house by making them appear more cozy and safe (not that it does it, the wail of a zombie still kills those silly little home vibes).
Personal NEGATIVE:
This would use up a lot of space that can otherwise be used for redstone wiring. Still, I wouldn't imagine you'd have fine china and porcelain in an area where wiring was necessary.
I can also see a potential issue that these items, for the most part, seem out of place with Minecraft. I can debate this, but I will still see the responses.

*snip* it's a bit early to be adding compleltey useless items into the game. I am in favour of more decoration, but this seems both too modern and useless.*snip*
The only complaint I have is it's a bit early to be adding compleltey useless items into the game. I am in favour of more decoration, but this seems both too modern and useless. Decoration that also serves a small purpose, like the vase, would be preffered.

Well thought out and diagramed, though.
I wouldn't say they're completely useless as they are aesthetic. This backdrop for porcelain is but a few humble lead ins to some useful items made from it. Eggs, were, for a time, completely useless as well. Still, I see your point and will quote as such in the OP.

How is porcelain too modern? And I'd like more decorations!

The intended uses such as sink and toilet would be too modern, but I don't know how that applies to bathtub, handrail, and dishes (dishes esp. since porcelain china existed for millenia).
