I have a simple suggestion that would make getting apples a little easier and would add another way to slowly farm food: Apple Trees. Apple trees would be like normal trees with some differences:
1. Their leaves have a new texture that make it obvious that the tree is an apple tree.
2. They never grow to be "Big Trees"
3. Most importantly, every time an apple tree leaf block is destroyed, it has a chance of dropping an apple.
Also, they would have their own kind of sapling that always grows an apple tree (alternatively, planting an apple could be used instead of saplings). However, natural apple trees would be much rarer than normal trees. I was thinking that apple trees would be about 2-4% of all generated trees.
Does anyone else think this would be a good addition to the game?
I'd love it. Apples are so rare that even after playing for months I haven't seen any apples.
My only suggestion is that you could plant and apple after finding one to get an apple tree as well as finding them naturally in your world. This would increase the possibility of having an apple farm.
like this (this is a side view, not a crafting grid.) []
where = apple
and then you put more dirt on top of the apple and it grows into a tree

Your position is noted.
You should also consider making better use of the search bar and the "already suggested" sticky thread.
