The Vulture Mob:
Spawn: Near Cacti with a sand radius of 5 blocks (Attempt at spawn in desert)
Group: Spawns in groups of 3.
Health: 2 Hearts
Drop: Feather (stack of 5-10) 30%, Bone 100%
The Vulture mob would spawn in the desert and would circle around cacti but cannot venture 25 blocks away from a cacti. The Vulture mob would swoop down on any dropped blocks and pick them up. The vulture would then fly back to their spot (40 blocks above sea level) but if the player killed it before that they would get the block back. The vulture would also perch on nearby cacti when the players health is below 7. When the player health is below 5 vultures would begin to swoop the player dealing 1 heart on every swoop. The only way to escape vultures is to run over 25 blocks away from the nearest cacti (therefore out of the vultures fly range) or hide under blocks or any sort. Vultures have only 2 hearts but are quite fast and are very hard to hit with a sword. A bow will kill them in 2 shots and then they would drop a bone and have a 30% chance of dropping 5-10 feathers. If a player attempts to spawn vultures they would have to place a 25x25 sand layer. Although vultures can spawn in an area of 5x5 sand and a cacti if there is no sand around them they would instantly disappear.
Interesting idea, but i doubt it will happen, mostly because the coding for this sounds difficult (i do admit that i dont know much about coding though). The reason i say that is because this sounds like it would have a lot more ai and more complicated patterns. I mean, the other mobs just walk straight at you trying to kill you and wont even bother to walk around a cactus. You are suggesting A LOT more behavior than that.
I like the idea though, especially how the come after you when they see you're dying :tongue.gif:
