I can totally understand why we're not allowed to stack the meat in our inventory but it's a pain to have to stand there and replace uncooked meat with cooked meat in the furnace. Maybe just allow them to stack in the furnace?

There was a dispenser/receiver idea that could solve this. Would make other neat stuff possible too. Like a conveyor belt.
The problem is that if you can stack the raw pork while putting it in you have to make the cooked pork stackable too. If you don't it just defeats the purpose.
When you're cooking bacon in the morning, and I assume you all do, because you're manly men, you don't just throw a packet of bacon in the oven/pan and leave it. You put it in, and turn it over to get optimal crispy.
Same goes for most food, in the sense that you've got to manage it properly while cooking. I know you have to manage ore smelting IRL too, but that would just be irritating. Food is pretty much ESSENTIAL, and is quite powerful. The way it cooks now is pretty good.
However, I wouldn't really complain if we were able to stack, say, 2 or 4 at a time. I wouldn't vouch for it, though.

You CAD! Microwaved bacon is like satan! But slightly more tasty, and a little less heresy.
... only slightly less.
Oh, I'm going to hell anyway.
._. It's easier and faster. I don't like waiting to quell hunger.
But I don't think food should be stackable like this. Wouldn't the already-cooked stuff burn while the raw stuff kept cooking? (I know I shouldn't bring real life into it but...)
If you want to be purely logical, then this is a terrible idea.
Regarding game mechanics, it makes it a little easy to get food, and food is overpowered as it is.
So, maybe in stacks of at the most, 8, but no more than that. I'd honesly prefer 4 or less, simply to get you to watch what fuel you use.

the best way to cook food is to use sticks, 2 sticks will cook it perfectly without any wasted fuel.
