With the addition of beds, there comes the idea of many other objects that could be used for furniture. This is a list with explanation of furniture ideas, so be ready.(This also may be updated)
To begin off, I am going to reference achievements. Notch has stated that he will be adding achievements at a point, so it would be justifiable to add rewards. Some rewards could be things like plaques and hangings, but there also could be things such as capes.
Wardrobes!
-In order to check achievements and to change capes one would need to check the wardrobe. This would be instead of adding another menu. You may be thinking: why would I want a wardrobe instead of an achievements menu? Well, it's just a suggestion, and I think it would be kind of interesting.
-When accessing one's wardrobe you would have the option of changing cape and the ability to preview the cape. You would also have a scroll menu with each achievement and your goal. If you achieve it, then it unlocks the corresponding cape or object.
-The wardrobe would be approximately 1 block wide and 2 blocks high.
-The recipe would be:
The next object might be useful in SMP and will have several uses. It can be used for bartering, display, and placing of objects to give away.
Tables!
-Tables act similar to normal blocks other than that they are unable to stack up on top of each other. The closest example are fences which do not stack. Tables do connect though to allow for very large tables.
-The table has a menu similar to that of anything you place something in, but it has three options: Up For Barter, Give Away, and Display. Each option locks out the others and only one can be active at a time. Barter
-This option has a scroll menu with the option of different blocks/objects to be traded. There is also a place to select quantity of the object. If another person comes and puts the object & quantity on the table, the object on the table becomes his or her's. The new object gets set on the table as "Display." Display
-This option is pretty self-explanatory. One puts an object in the slot and it is displayed on the table. this allows people to view the object. Give Away
-This is another option that is self-explanatory. One puts an object in the slot and somebody is able to go by and take the object if he or she so pleases.
-Recipe is:
(Other Objects Will Be Added)
Objects to be Added to List
-Wall Clocks
-Lanterns (Notch was supposed to add these on the Halloween update, but they still have not been added)
-Desk
-Chairs
-Map Table
-Repair Station?
*TBC*
