How many people have dreamed of getting a cage to put mobs in without having to build a complicated trap and lure them in? I propose a non-stackeable, non-crafteable block called a Cage. It will be found in the same way as Saddles, only in dungeon chests. It looks like a Mob Spawner, but the bars are grey like iron, there's no fire, and the model of the mob captured doesn't spin, but turns to look at you as you move around. Also, you cant use it beyond the range of 3 blocks from a mob. Right-click to trap the mob in the cage, where a model of the mob (also used in mob spawners) is now shown, turning to look at you when you move. You can place it by right-clicking only after it has been filled. Also, as an almost totally obvious oversight, the mob's can't make any other moves, and touching the cage can't hurt you. The mobs in the cages don't need food or water.
But traps are annoying, dontcha think? They take time, effort, and more materials to construct. If possible, we could make the cages crafteable, but then it would be too easy.

I know how to deal with it, derp. I have tons of construction projects, all of them finished. My spawn point is sooo far away from my current base, but I built an interstate for minecarts to it!

(I'm not going to bother fixing the quote)
In truth, without pics you could be lying, but I dont care if you are or are not. That has nothing to do with this topic.
I think that a block like this would be interesting. However, instead of using it like a trap, maybe it could just be like a little hamster cage, but for zombies skeletons spiders pigs and creepers. (All the mobs that can be spawned by mob spawners (that I know of anyways. I've never seen a cow or a slime spawn anyways :tongue.gif: ))
I would love to have a mini pet creeper, but other then that, I dont see much of a use.
Maybe if you find enough you could build a catacomb, and place a bunch of those blocks with zombies and skeletons.
Question: would the block make the noises of the mobs, and would the mobs look at you as you walk by?
Question: would the block make the noises of the mobs, and would the mobs look at you as you walk by?
The block WOULD make noises, but only once in a while, like one noise every 2x the time it takes normally for a mob to make the noise. And I believe I already stated that the mob models would turn to look at you.
Also, people, anyone who reads this and likes it and is good with pixel art, can ya help me out here please? I'm not that great with pixel art. It's just a greay mob spawner with no flames. And no model of the mob inside until you catch it. Here's a link to a picture:
