i feel that the development of redstone diodes that you can point to diode recievers is a cool idea. it would allow more trickier traps to be made without the use of pressure plates. with diodes, somebody could make an invisible lazer alarm system that tells them somebody is intruding their mine in smp.
redstone diodes should have to point directly to the reciever for it to work, and they also should work only up to 4 squares away ( so someone dose not make something that goes across the map without using redstone dust.)
= redstone [] = air = person intruding = diode transmitter = diode reciever = redstone torch = dispenser full of arrows = redstone inverter = cobble

ok well appearently not many know what im talking about, im talking about like in television remotes( the wireless thingy ) that should be called a diode, not some redstone repeater that others call a diode. ive placed a real diode in a circuit before, so im pretty sure i know what im talking about.
I don't know what a diode is, but the laser thing sounds kind of awesome. Some trespasser passes an invisible laser grid, triggers a drowning trap...Not quite fitting, but a neat idea.
