I suggest they add a redwood Biome because it would give us a cool new type of wood, new food sources, and new mobs.
The new type of wood would obviously be redwood. the color of the planks and fences and other craftables would look like redder, darker versions of the acacia wood.
The new food would be berries. There could be the *Huckleberry*, which could be eaten to stop poison because it was used for medicinal purposes in real life, and the *salmonberry*, which can be eaten by it's self or turned into a jam which can be put onto bread in a crafting table. The jam would increase the breads food level nourishment by 0.5, making it give you six points of food. Both of these would give 1 food point (or in other words half a drumstick). They would also drop seeds so that you could take them and plant them in your own garden.
The new mobs could be beavers, they would spawn in dams made out of a dry bush like object, which when destroyed would yield 6-8 sticks and they would drop beaver tail, which would give 6 food points (or 3 drumsticks) and have a hunger saturation level of 9.6. Another Mob could be the *Deer*, which would be like a rabbit in behavior, running away when one gets too close, however if you attack an Deer, it will fight back like a zombie pigman reacts to you attacking it. It's attacks would be running at you, horns down, which would cause 6 points of damage. Deer would drop venison which would give 8 food points and 12.8 food saturation. There could be bats, which would only spawn at night, flying around. These would act the same as regular bats but they could have a more reddish tinge to them, so they'd be more like the western red bats than the brown bats we're used to. The final mob would be a hostile mob that could spawn in redwood forests and mountains. This would be the puma. It would attack by clawing at you, and can pounce out at you from behind trees. It's claw attack would cause 4 points of damage while it's pounce attack (which is only used to start a fight, by the way.) would cause 8. Pumas would give XP and claws which could tip arrows as well. Puma meat would give 14 food points, and the saturation would be equal to 13.4.
As for the look of this biome, the trees would obviously be HUGE, probably four blocks in diameter. With branches near the top instead of just a bush of leaves. With generated coarse dirt paths running around the forest. There could be some understory (such as grass, tall grass, the aforementioned berries, and saplings) growing around the forest floor. *The trees are extremely tall, so should be able to get over 100 blocks in height. they also sometimes burn down or fall so trees that have fallen and have little trunk left should exist.*

There are Mega Taiga's which have been nicknamed Redwood forests. I didn't realize this when I made this thread, but I still like the idea of a new wood type as well. Also my tree description deviates from theirs quite a bit. Do you support adding these idea's though?
Aren't redwood biomes already in Minecraft? Just add this to those biomes!
No, there aren't. They are Mega Taiga's and the trees in there, like you know is Spruce trees, not Redwood trees. That being said, it would actually be quite easy to change the trees to be Redwood, instead of Spruce...
The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
first off, I would like to mention that I live near the real redwood trees. So now, there is no black cap or salal berries in redwood forests, there is huckleberries, salmonberries, and thimbleberries. Then, elk do not live in redwood trees, for the most part. There is bears, mountain lions, and deer.

The biome is fine, but there's really no need for more food at this point. The elk and puma are okay, but I don't see much being offered with the beaver. I don't think we need a second kind of bat just for this one biome.

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.
