The volcano pictured looks pretty sweet and it would be a cool thing to see, but what else does it introduce to the game? Is it just a giant lava pool with obsidian below it, are there special types of caves, etc.?
Vague, potential support.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
And who are you, the proud lord said, that I must bow so low?
Only a cat of a different coat, that's all the truth I know.
In a coat of gold or a coat of red, a lion still has claws,
And mine are long and sharp, my lord, as long and sharp as yours.
And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall, and not a soul to hear.
There are fireball entities but not lavaballs in vanilla play, fireballs don't look right erupting from a volcano.
Also I don't know how many times that photo has been turned from png to jpg to png to jpg.
But give that photo a rest man... Its all blurry.
edit:
2ndly lets say fireballs did look right.
The top part of the volcano would not allow for you to see if it is erupting or not being that tall. Vanilla entities can only be seen from so far away no matter render distance on some of them (like baby chickens). (The vanilla system does not support proper flight paths either, that's why the snowball jitters and comes from within the players head, not enough updates sent to their flying entities. That's also why llama_spit flies so fast, so you can't see it jitter. In other words the lava eruption would jitter and look tacky. All the vanilla stuff gets the same updates, instead of having updates for individual entities that would require more resources.)
If eruption was done with falling_block with the id of flowing lava it would have terrible lag.
A Player could build a volcano and make it work. But a naturally spawned one? probably not.
I usually play at a render distance of 7 because I enjoy the fog.
for giant naturally spawning volcanoes:
No support.
For lava lake sized volcanic spouts (small volcanoes):
Support (although I would like to see more updates sent to flying entities before this happens)
small amounts of magma in the overworld would be kinda cool.
Example of a volcano:
There's already a volcano thread active.
Anyways, how will they spawn? Are they a biome? What are they made of? Will any unique mobs spawn in them?
Give details.
Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.
Feel free to drop by for a chat whenever.
If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
he's giving a sugestion.not developing the game but it would be a good idea but would have to be quite rare.

This suggestion is about a volcano, not everything else.
Myself I think a mountain can turn into a volcano if they're a lava pit inside or below the mountain.
Fully Support.
