It's basically like burning netherrack except that there's no risk in going to the Nether on Easy+ and that it burns forever, unlike logs, even though it uses a log in the recipe which I'm still not sure about. The fire in it does not spread to other flammable bricks around it. I'm thinking a piece of coal on bottom with flint and steel in the middle, that might make more sense.
Texture Mockup:
It would look like this on all sides but the bottom where it would be the regular brick texture on the bottom, and on top there would be no gradient. I'm thinking about the light in the middle being fire instead of the current yellow to transparent gradient.
Good idea. I think it's a bit ridiculous that, what would seem to be a controlled fireplace in Minecraft, flames will still spread to blocks that are 5 spots away from the fire, even though in reality this would probably never happen.

I know right? I had a fire completely surrounded by brick and glass and my house still caught on fire D:
I don't think it should look like netherrack...I think that netherrack would just look ugly in a fireplace. I think that it should look like a log, also, what if you wanted a fireplace more than one block wide?
