For those of you who may say there shall not be anything round in Minecraft, by round I don't mean circle I mean you can go one direction for very long and end up back where you were. Once you go so far you will see a drop, if you go off of it, you will be put onto the a different side of the world, like this video would be a good example. (Except have the world way bigger) I understand that this may be hard to add and most likely will not be added, I just wanted to say how interesting this would be.

I don't think many people reach the edge of the world. Personally I think this would be too much of a hassel to add. So, no support of only because I want to see other stuff be added in first.
What happens if you reach the centre of the world? What happens to bedrock?
I think what he's trying to say is that if you go too far in one direction, it'll loop around instead of going on and on, while the vertical element remains the same as before.
To put it into a numerical example, basically like if you're at the X coordinate of, say, 500000, and then you proceed one more block in that direction, you'll wrap around to -500000. Which could theoretically work with the chunk-based system Minecraft uses, though there could still be issues, especially where multiplayer is concerned.
However, adding such a system would have to either cause problems with pre-existing worlds, or simply set the wrap-around point at the very edges of the current world limit for pre-existing worlds, which would be way too far out for anyone not using commands to reasonably experience, since the current limit of world generation is around 30 million blocks out from the center. Also, this feature would likely invalidate the currently-existing "world border" feature, unless it was changed to determine the point at which the world wraps around.
It'd be too difficult to achieve a perfect balance between "reduce the maximum world size by too much" and "make it so players could reasonably experience this wrap-around", so I'm not in support of this idea.
It would be realistic, but I don't see the point. It could be used to break travel, like if you had one base at X=30 million and another base (or an enemies' base) at -X 30 million, so going between the two wouldn't be like going around the world, it would be more "warping" to another place. Therefore, things millions of blocks away would essentially take seconds to travel. No Support.

Umm... no. Y'see, this would just cause a lot of problems, such as bedrock and mining, if you mined straight down and got to the other side, how would that work? And most people never travel all the way to the end of the world, so this feature would be cool, yes, but useless, as most people will not see it. Ever.
No support.

The problem that people keep pointing out is really stupid. The center of the world doesn't matter. Not even a little bit. Bedrock isn't the freaking center, it's the top layer! Nothing would change except for the wrap-around effect. Mining or underground in general would not be affected in the slightest.
HOWEVER, this wouldn't work because it would make worlds finite, and infinite worlds are one of the biggest appeals to minecraft. There's no one size that would work for everybody; for some it would be too big ad they'd never get to the edge in singleplayer survival, while for others it would be too small for massive multiplayer communities.

I think this could work as a different world type, if Mojang found the time to add it, and if it is even possible. Chances are they wouldn't find a need for it. It would be cool to have different time zones in Minecraft.
No support because it makes zero sense. How would this work? And this just hurts my head. It is too much for my mind to handle.
I agree with 64M34DD1C7, it makes perfect sense. What aren't you understanding about the idea? I mean, don't get me wrong te explanation was a bit confusing. Don't think about it like it was shown in the video, because it would be on such a large scale that the interconnecting underground wouldn't be an actual aspect. Just think if it like this: if you start walking from the center of a square to the right, once you reach the edge of the square, you pop into the left edge, and keep walking until you get to the center again. Just like how it works on Earth.

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.
This idea has potential, for those of you saying "This would make the world not infinite" is wrong. The world isnt infinite and here is a direct quote to the mc wiki about it |"While the world is essentially infinite, the number of blocks the player may physically walk on is limited. The map contains a world border at +/- 29,999,984 X/Z. The world border is an animated wall of blue stripes"| So what could happen when you reach the border is a change in gravity. Nevertheless there is a problem with world genoration would have to be edited to double the what it already genorates so the you would have to have a killer pc.
Also why so much hate, it was an idea.
I partially support it

I like smaller looping worlds, but not making it actually round (cubicly round anyways) like this. I would prefer it be like old console RPGs where going all the way west loops you to the east side of the world. Basically the world would behave as if mapped to a torus. All the benefits of this without trying to deal with complicated physics on corners of the world.

Ever see a bad forum post online? That's probably me.
You cannot go below bedrock as under bedrock is the center where gravity changes and if you somehow get through the bedrock it will kill you.
I think I see what you mean. The world would have a sort of core made out of bedrock?
Yes.

Like spaaace. . . No, seriously, you can see the moon or sun under the bedrock soo the earth IS FLAT! Dun dun dunnn!!!

I don't even play Minecraft much anymore yet here I am on the Minecraft forums for some reason...
I think it makes sense. The chances of Mojang adding it are extremely slim, but I can understand where metalbones1 is coming from.
Infinite worlds are not truly infinite.... they are just extremely huge.
