Mobs can't get past a good wall. We don't need moats.
Which water is in which biome?
Why does adding flowers to water create potion effects?
If you want it to be aesthetic, don't try to give it a mechanical use. Just keep it aesthetic.
How does it mix with other liquids?
One last thing, about presentation: If it's following the rules, you don't need to mark that you're following the rules. It's nice to know you've read them, but it's rather redundant. Like telling people "I stop at stop signs."
If you had a slab moat that went into water, you could have a mob moat.
A greenish dyed water could be in the swamp (like it is) and could have some poisonus effects in it.
A cyan could be for the ocean.
A light blue for the coast.
for the flower forest it could be purple with some flower kind of water.
For the Dark oak forest, it could be glowing water, since it has a bunch of mushrooms.
Adding flowers would not give it a potion effect, If you added potions it would. (act like beacons kind of)
Adding flowers would only get the colors of dyed (colored) water.
If it mixed with other liquids,(lava would be the same with water)It would mix colors, or mix potion effects (or both)
I came up with a new idea for the nether biome. It would have fire resistant water, but very rarely. It would create only one type of water that is allowed in the nether.
If you collected some fire resistant water, you could use lava with it, and the water would over rule it.
I kind of have to disagree with that. If you can't lock items behind story progression or leveling in Minecraft, then the only thing you can lock things behind is its difficulty to obtain.
That said, I like the idea of dyed water (Although that either requires we add a bunch of new water blocks or turn water into a tile entity, which is probably a bad idea due to the number of block updates water is likely to receive) but not the idea of potion effects. In creative, this can easily be accomplished with commands, but in survival it's just overpowered.
Hello, While i was thinking and playing around on a server, I had a idea about..
Dyed water.
It would have many effects on the player if they decided to add potions to it, such as...
Healing
Poisoning
Regeneration
These could help out many players, like the...
dangerous, adventurous type.
The designing type.
The "what am i doing?" type.
The map creator type.
And last but not least..
The moat building type.
It could harm mobs, making it good for a mob moat.
A way to get them is to craft water with dyes, or flowers, and you get the color.
Another way would to be to travel to all biomes and get the water set to the specific one.
A rare kind would to be to get all kinds of flowers (fills the whole crafting table)
and you would get a paste.
The paste could be added with the water and be made into a flower kind of water.
Mushrooms could make the water glowy.
Another contribution to help make it would be bottle dyes.
If you added too much dye,the water could be a thicker consistency, making it harder to move thorugh it.
You could bottle the water and it would make it so you could move through the dyed water easier.
Thanks for reading, and please ask questions!
Like seriously.

Edit: That last one in your poll? This is the worst suggestions thread in the world. You'd be hard-pressed to do worse.

Hoi!
I feel like it would have to be difficult, like maybe 8 potions mixed with your dyed water would make a potion dyed water.
Hoi!
Difficult doesn't mean it's balanced. I'd suggest just forgetting about that part. It overcomplicates things and doesn't work.
And a big no to water in the Nether.

Partial Support.

Thanks! Now that i think about it, it would be over powered. but maybe only the potion effected water could be spawned in with creative cheats.
Hoi!
