Everyone loves the classic cauldron. But years of it, I've found something I don't like about it: It can hold water, but not lava or milk! I don't care about the milk part too much, because it would have no purpose, but I think a lava cauldron would be very useful. It wouldn't be useful for washing dye off armor, or erasing banners, or stuff similar to that. It would be useful for decoration. Like it would make a cool light piece for some medieval castle and players wouldn't burn if they got on top of it. You could get lava from it just like a normal cauldron.
I know this is kind of obvious, so I'm sorry if there is another thread like this one out there.
-Light only travels straight up
-If you throw an item into a lava cauldron, it acts as a incinerator.
So the only purpose for this is to add a new light?

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.
In my opinion, "it's just aesthetic" is only a good argument if the aesthetic added is something unique. Banners and flower pots for example are only decorational, but their purpose is one that can't be mimicked by any block that was already in the game.
Since this block is decorational lighting, I'd say No support, unfortunately. It's a cool idea, but I'd rather have it do more than being "just another decorational lighting block"
How about having it function as an item incinerator? Right clicking on it with any item in your hand will have it burn up that item. It'd be safer than a regular garbage can using lava or cactus, but at the same time balanced because you wouldn't be able to throw in stacks at a time, or to be automated. That'd give it a real unique purpose.
I thought about that idea, but I was afraid it was a bad one. I guess it wasn't. I would love for it to act as a incinerator!
