Because i get a warning that i am necroposting, i thought, well, make things better and rerun that episode.
If they announced that diamonds are going to be harder to find, i have no clue why, because in my 9th month playing Minecraft, i hardly found any diamond, and mostly i would lose them because of som freaking creeper blows up right behind you while balancing through the lava pits. So, should diamond be harder to find, or should there be a way to produce them artificial, or make it an spontanious appearence when mining in the diamond green zone....
I do not really support any of them, because everyone is already packed with diamonds in their armour and tools and they cheat the hell out of this game. So said, i like to have some diamond if some actions or accomplishments are done or met. So let the game run it's rules and let not people influence that behaviour. Yet i know that in the real world diamonds are formed deep in the earth, like gold, and they slowly surface through shifting and tremors.
This might give Mojang an idea, earth quakes, and learn to build resistant buildings and work diamonds this way to a mineable depth.
So this way we have absolutely no influence in when or where daimonds are spotted, it changes......
(shifting of the tectonic plates is not everywhere felt....)
So you want to add earthquakes and tremors, which would destroy player's home and structures and be punished for something they didn't do nor cannot prevent happening, just to be able to find Diamonds easier?
Gameplay > Reality. Just because something is realistic doesn't mean we need it in the game. What if it was your first few days in Minecraft and there was an earthquake? Or you wouldn't be able to know how resistant your building is? Player-built structures are one thing, but what about natural ones? Those would cause a heck ton of lag.
You're issues with finding Diamonds could be the result of many other issues, not just being directly related to "They're rare and a Creeper blew up in my face". You need to be able to manage this kind of stuff on your own, or you can customize how much Diamond ore spawns by going through the Customize option.
I don't see how earthquakes that destroy building would help anyone find diamonds. An uncontrollable natural disaster is never a good idea in this kind of game, a sandbox. No Support
