A forest inside of the deepest point in minecraft.
Mobs
Mobs in the Ashwood Forests include the common spawn of Zombie Pigman, and a rare spawn of Wither Skeletons. Now, let's get into new mobs. First of all, there is the Flaming Scorpion (alternatively Fire Scorpion), which is in the general shape of a spider (Being 2x2x1, that is), with a small stinger that shoots out small arrow-like projectiles, that appear to be a triangle with fire effects that set the player on fire for 3 seconds and inflicts 4 damage (2 hearts) in easy. They have 14 health (7 hearts). They drop 0-2 Magma Gems (See my other suggestion that elaborates more on this).
Generation
The generation in the Ashwood Forests is made generally out of netherrack and gravel and soul sand, with ashwood trees (See blocks) only growing on gravel. The terrain is always near lava oceans (nether oceans) and is extremely flat. If the lava ocean is actually touching the Forest, there is always a shore of soul sand bordering it (Simply soul sand lowering into the lava). There would also be Imbrises (See Blocks) that would generation, bordering the tree, obscuring them from view.
Blocks
The main blocks in the Ashwood forests are Ashwood Logs and Ashwood Leaves. The are both generated naturally on top of gravel. They are generated in the same sequence oak trees are. The log looks like all other logs, except that the outer bark is dark red, and the inner wood is black with a little light red, looking like charred wood. Ashwood Leaves look like ash, and are in the general texture of gravel, but much darker with some transparent pixels (If fancy graphics are on). Ashwood leaves burn much faster than regular leaves, causing many trees to be bare. However, logs are immune to fire, and fire will burn forever on them as if they were netherrack. You can create Ashwood boats, which move faster than regular boats and can go in lava. You can also create Ashwood Planks, Ashwood slabs, Ashwood stairs, and Ashwood fences, which act like normal, except that they are immune to fire. There would also be Imbrises (Thanks Endergirl00!), which have a similar effect to magma blocks, pulsing in and out, but it would be blood red. They would tend to be surrounded by obsidian and netherrack, which would cause them to look like a plant in themselves. They would be orange, except for the blood-red pulsing, and produce a pale white/orange light about as bright as that of a magma block gives off.
Conclusion
Thanks for reading! I love criticism and expect it!

Ashwood Forests A forest inside of the deepest point in minecraft. Mobs Mobs in the Ashwood Forests include the common spawn of Zombie Pigman, and a rare spawn of Wither Skeletons. They have 14 health (7 hearts). This mob has some potential, but I'd like to know more about it's projectile. Perhaps you should go more in detail and provide a unique projectile to this mob. They drop 0-2 Magma Blocks. I feel like that's a waste of a mob with potential. Having it drop blocks one could easily find in the Nether doesn't make this mob interesting to fight for. There is also the Molten Hound, which is a neutral mob (Similarly to wolves or Zombie Pigman), where if you attack one, the rest gang up on you. They have 16 health (8 hearts) when wild but 28 health (14 hearts) when tamed. They do 6 (3 hearts) damage (on easy) when wild and 8 (4 hearts) damage when tamed. You can tame them using wither skeleton skulls (Or wither skeleton bones if it gets added, check it out, it's an awesome suggestion), with a 2/3 chance. When tamed, a black collar with silver spikes jutting out of it is placed all of it. You can use the dye to dye the black collar (Not the spikes). You can right click them when they are tamed for them to sit and stop following you. Water is fatal to them and acts like lava. They are immune to fire damage. Already, this is a complete redundant mob pet to the tamed Wolf. Because of that, this mob is unnecessary. Unless this mob had a more unique mechanic that would benefit the player, then it would have some possibility. But until then, this is redundant and unoriginal.
Generation The generation in the Ashwood Forests is made generally out of netherrack and gravel and soul sand, with ashwood trees (See blocks) only growing on gravel. The terrain is always near lava oceans (nether oceans) and is extremely flat. If the lava ocean is actually touching the Forest, there is always a shore of soul sand bordering it (Simply soul sand lowering into the lava). This may be my opinion, but deserted, burned down trees isn't exactly a theme ftting for a dimension that is centred around an actual living hell, where no light or water is visible, making it questionable on why there would even be trees there to begin with. Blocks The main blocks in the Ashwood forests are Ashwood Logs and Ashwood Leaves. The are both generated naturally on top of gravel. They are generated in the same sequence oak trees are. The log looks like all other logs, except that the outer bark is dark red, and the inner wood is black with a little light red, looking like charred wood. Ashwood leaves burn much faster than regular leaves, causing many trees to be bare. However, logs are immune to fire, and fire will burn forever on them as if they were netherrack. Something that you can burn in the nether is also something very questionable. Again, this is going along with the theme the Nether has. You can create Ashwood boats, which move faster than regular boats and can go in lava. You can also create Ashwood Planks, Ashwood slabs, Ashwood stairs, and Ashwood fences, which act like normal, except that they are immune to fire. The ashwood boat sounds interesting, but perhaps you could limit it to just Lava, and move at a relatively slower speed (due to lava's viscosity). Other than that, I think this does has some potential, so long as there isn't a new tier involved. Conclusion Thanks for reading! I love criticism and expect it! Responses in bold. Overall the idea has some plausibility, however, some ideas I don't entirely disagree with. Such as the biome in general and the Molten Hound.

It was probably best then to post later when you were able to offer criticism then.
Thank you for the tips. I personally feel that I can provide no more information on the projectile provided by the Flaming Scorpion, and the Molten Hound isn't necessarily a "Ripoff" of the wolf, but rather an alternative that is suitable for the end/nether. It dies easily in the overworld unless you keep it in your base, making it unsuitable for the overworld. The "ash" on the trees burns simply because I believe it would make it harder to obtain these. These trees require no light, which causes the leaves to be ash-like in their appearance. The wood has the appearance of being charred and molten. This gives the appearance that the tree is actually sustained by lava.
Very well thought out, but I don't think there needs to be two brand new mobs just for this biome. The scorpion sounds okay, but I'm not seeing much of a point in the hellhound, and it's even more pointless to tame one. It's basically a fire version of a wolf. I don't think we need any more utility mobs, the hulking Iron Golem should be the limit.
Another thing, there's no good reason to add any natural wood in the Nether whatsoever. We're talking about a barren hell full of lava and heat. Trees should stick to the Overworld in my opinion. The wood does sound awesome though, I'll give you that. I mean, maybe some sort of strange "tree" could work there, but wood in the Nether is just... not clicking together for me.
Minimal support.

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.

It's still redundant though, and performs the same action as an already existing mob. So therefore there's no need for another mob that already does the same job. Even if it's a complete opposite and can die in water.

That's not what I mean. Scientifically, trees and plants require water and sunlight to sustain itself, something the Nether does not have. So to even have it begin as either dead trees would make one assume as if there was once trees, which there are. That doesn't exactly fit the Nether.
Like Cerroz said, it's a good idea, but being an actual tree wouldn't exactly be fitting. I can suggest something I have in mind as a replacement, but with the same function and all:
Imbrises (feel free to change the name)
A slender looking structure that vaguely resembles that of a tree, with a design based on human veins, lava cracks, and volcanic material (Such as Obsidian, various rocks, etc). These would be naturally occuring, being found on the corners or walls of Netherrack in caves or canopies, or sprout out of lava pools and grow out onto the beach.
This 'plant' can be easily broken like a tree, and also almost function as if one, being able to create planks and boats that can withstand lava.
EDIT:
I'm also offering to provide concept art on this idea I'm providing you. Only if you're willing to accept the idea first, that is.

I feel I have misunderstood my own concept (And by that I mean I found a better version for it), basically, the wood would be petrified wood that has sunk to the nether (Pictures below), and the leaves would be ash caused by volcanic eruptions, therefore making it not a true tree, but rather remnants (I mean, it's like coal, how did coal get in the nether? It makes sense, kinda).
I think I'll remove the Molten Hound because of the points you have made, thanks for the criticism.
I will likely add the imbrises, with a few minor tweaks just to make it fit into the biome as a whole.

Basically what I said to Endergirl.
