Having read multiple articles involving Minecraft releasing on the Rift, I would like to throw in my two cents.
I am one of those poor souls afflicted by fairly sensitive motion sickness, and I understand that not everyone is, but it would be nice to have this option to be more inclusive for everyone. This may already be in the works, but I figured it's worth discussing. I have not seen thismentioned anywhere as of yet, but my suggestions are as follows:
In addition to the first person and third person over the shoulder camera modes that are currently present, I strongly suggest including a floating 3rd person camera, similar to the one used in Lucky's Tale.
A couple of different modes would be nice to have, a closer camera like Lucky's Tale and other similar platformers, and a farther one which could approximate the overhead view seen in the hololens demo, or the "sim city" demo in the Dreamdeck.
Obscuring the character with walls and such could be solved by simply applying transparency to any objects between the character and camera.
I personally REALLY enjoy this type of camera in VR, and would likely play the daylights out of Minecraft were this an option, but first person would prevent me from playing it at all.
