"The first post says that the only way to "kill" a ghoul is using Smite. Does the light thing kill them as well, or just keep them from spawning again near you?"
Incorrect. What I said was this:
"To kill a Ghoul, you must FIRST introduce it to a space with a light-level higher than 4 (Any light brighter than Moon-light) or hit it with any object that's been enchanted with Smite. ONCE YOU HAVE DONE EITHER OF THESE, the Ghoul will turn into its physical (non-transparent) form, making it susceptible to damage" I guess you didn't read it.
"If light only despawns it but it's still present when I move away from the light. Then... that can be annoying."
read the topic: Light does not de-spawn Ghouls.
"Well, that's good I guess, but in a cramped space like a mine, this wouldn't be so easy."
again, light a torch.
"what I mean by that is you saying "It's not that bad" when talking about messing with controls."
We've been over this already. Lets leave it at its conclusion of its difficulty being relevant to the players ability to perform.
It'll be hard for some, and it'll be easy for some. There is not much more that needs to be said.
"I don't mean to keep being a correction nazi, but the percent usually comes after the number"
It is better if you correct me, so please feel free to, so I do not make the same mistake. Thank you.
"No, you can't dive in lava if you don't move into it, sure, but you never know what kind of terrain you'll be standing on. Sometimes you don't have the luxury of standing still."
I never disagreed with that fact, I merely stated there is less of those scenarios in comparison to the Overwold, due to the only threat being Ghasts that would make the player want to move in the situation of being possessed. The Overwold has more hostile Mobs that are more commonly present. I will not repeat myself for stating my other reasons to why Ghouls should not be in the Nether, you'll have to go back and read them.
Just because it is a ghost does not mean it can just fly, posses, and make yourself fall off a cliff.
There's no mention of the player being able to fly upon being possessed. That would make no sense? Actually, I don't fully know what you were talking about there.

Ah, I meant that the ghost should not be able to fly, not the player. But I don't see how you came to the conclusion that I thought the player could fly when possessed.
Messing with the players' controls can be one of the worst things in almost any game. And having to need a specific enchantment just to get rid of this thing makes that even more annoying. I wouldn't mind some ghost mob but not with those mechanics.
Well, don't make your house in a roofed forest, always carry torches, and or a golden sword. It wouldn't be that hard if the ghoul is coming towards you to repel it with a torch.

I think you need to truly understand what kind of argument you're making here.
So I can't make my house in a roofed forest even though I really want to because a trolly ghost is there? Of the two solutions, which one is easier?
Always carry torches and place them everywhere in the dark no matter where you are, be sure to have a gold sword and maybe gold armor on as well and never set up shop in a roofed forest. Or...
Not having the mob exist at all.
Hmm.

Well, yes you could definitely make it in a roofed forest. Just make sure the perimeter is lit up. However, I like the aspect of using torches to repel a mob. You would not have to place them everywhere, only when you see one. I always have torches on me, even if I never need them. I rarely use them in caves, since I can see fine. They aren't as tedious as you're saying they are, in my opinion. You're traveling thru a dark forest, you see one/ hear one coming towards you. It gets close, you place a torch, kill it and continue on your way. I would not sacrifice armor for gold though, and torches seem easier, as they do make the ghoul vulnerable so I can just kill it normally.

So, how does drinking milk while possessed effect it? Removes the effect?

Someone once said, in defense of a poorly thought out suggestion that was not being supported: "Theres so much awesome and rare things to add and youre just like, oh , thats too good, no, i want something common like a grass block"
It doesn't seem too dangerous. The player control is somewhat annoying, but not that bad. In order to make it easier to deal with, what if it simply didn't allow you to walk forward? You could still turn, strafe, or walk backwards, but your ability to fight would be decreased. It would simulate fear, in a way. Support.
"Ghouls are the thralls of vampires or corpse eating undead, not ghosts."
A "Ghoul" is defined as "an evil spirit or phantom, especially one supposed to rob graves and feed on dead bodies."

Huh, never thought about that. I guess in that case it would remove the ghost and the effect.
